2.     Regular assessment is very important. Standardized tests are important but the regular assessing helps us in our day to day teaching.
3.     If a child is really far behind the class they usually need something new or different outside the classroom with more of a one on one instruction.

Not only with those who are struggling but also those who are high achievers, we’re missing that they are ready to move ahead.
2.     When assessing a child, particularly an English Language Learner, you want to assess not only in English but also their own language. Not only assessing what they read, but also what they understand when speaking to them. If they know it in their own language they can usually transfer it into English as well.

a.     Being very aware of the components of successful reading
b.     To become more and more skilled of being aware of student needs
c.     To figure out how to be more and more flexible as a classroom teacher with space, time, and having more resources
2.     Teachers need adequate resources. It’s vital that the children have a range of books and the teachers have a range of materials. Including professional development for the teachers.
3.     Flexible Grouping is not enough to help challenged students who struggle. Is the kid responding to the instruction and are they showing growth? If they are not getting it in that setup, change it and go for something that works for that student.
