Navigation Act

The navigation act occurred in the late 1600's. The Navigation Act would happen because the desire of England to protect it's economic interests by limiting trade with other nations. This act would affect the colony by preventing the colonies from trading with other European countries. This would force colonies to provide Britain with complete access to natural resources and raw material. The act would end in 1849 through 1854.

Sugar Act

The Sugar Act happened on April 5, 1764. The Sugar Act was a law that taxed American Colonies to raise money to pay for the Seven Years War. It was significant, because it led to protesting of merchants and the idea of no taxation without representation. The Sugar Act ended in 1766.

The purpose of the act was to raise money to pay the British off for 7 years of war. This would cause protests, boycotts of British goods, riots and attacks on the tax collectors. The act would end on March 18 of 1766

Boston Massacre

The Boston Massacre was when seven British soldiers opened fire into a crowd, killing five and wounding six people. This happened on March 5, 1770. The Boston Massacre was significant, because it made colonists angry towards the British and would soon bring rebellions throughout the colonies.

The Boston Tea Party happened on December 16 of 1773. Many men some as Indigenous Americans, boarded the East Indian Company ships and dumped about 342 chests of teas which is about 1.7 million dollars. Many would also stop paying taxes as a way to protest. The Boston Tea Party would end on 1774.

The Proclamation of 1763 happened on October 7, 1763. It prohibited American colonists from settling on lands from the French. This was significant, because it made colonists angry. This built tension between Great Britain and the colonists.

The Declaration of Independence

The Declaration of Independence happened on August 2nd of 1776. The Declaration happened due to raising tension between the American colonists and the British government. This would mark the official separation of the 13 American colonies from Great Britain declaring them as free and independent states. It would fully be over on July 4th of 1776.

British won which expanded there territory this caused significant American conlonist resentment due to new British policies aimed at paying off the war dept including increasing taxation which they viewed as unfair this is what led to American revolution

The Townshend Acts
