My Grandfather knocked on the door and came in with a worried face . He waved to me but i simply ignored him. He took a seat and passed the diagnosis paper to my parents . My father's heart skipped a beat and burst into tears. My Mother immediately dropped her cooking utensils on to the ground . I put down my phone and hugged my Grandfather , realising i should have spent more time with him.

He looked sad as if he had heard bad news. He smiled warmly as soon as he saw me. My grandfather would always care for me and make sure i was well fed but as usual i took it for granted and did not pay too much attention. I thought he had just wanted attention i had never gave him. He sighed while walking towards my father. Suddenly, my fathers face became as pale as a sheet of paper. I slowly moved closer trying not to be noticed. I was curious what my father had heard from my grandfather. As soon as i heard the news my face went blank and i felt full of regret. My grandfather mentioned he was growing old and had cancer. I decided i was going to pay more attention and show more gratitude towards him when all he does is care.

It was a bright Sunday morning, my mother was cooking lunch and my dad was reading the newspaper. I was playing video games on my phone when all of the sudden, my grandfather came bursting in through the door! My father let out a sarcastic smile and asked whether he always had to make an entrance. My grandfather let out simply smiled back and came to me and asked me how was i doing and called me a champ. I cold heartedly ignored his question, He gave a simple sigh as he slowly walked to my father. He whispered in his ear and told him that he was growing old and now he can barely even walk in a straight line. The doctors checked on him and said that he had cancer and there was nothing that they could do.

It was a bright normal Sunday. Sizzling and sweet aroma came from mother who was cooking lunch. The sounds of flipping pages came from father who was reading the news. And I was playing video games on my phone as usual. "Creeaak" The door was opened slowly and gently. My grandfather entered the house. He came to me and asked how i was doing. I cold heartedly ignored him. Grandfather sighed and said that we should spend time together more. I groaned and declined but he said something that felt like a knife pierced through my heart.

He had cancer. The person who took care of me when my parents were gone. The one who was with me ever since I was born, might pass on forever. Now it was not a bright normal Sunday anymore.

My grandfather has had cancer since i was young. That day he came through the door with his shoulders slumped in defeat. my grandfather told me he had a horrible disease last week but i did not bother to listen to him. My grandfather showed my father what he was holding and it was a medical report it said that he had cancer my father said it out loud but i did not care as i thought it was his pranks to make me talk to him. A few weeks later my father was screaming away as he was on a phone call. i woke up and ran to him asking what happened after he hung up his face was white as sheet as he said that grandfather was in hospital due to cancer. the truth hit me like a bolt of lightning as the sudden realisation that it was not a prank.

Although, it was obvious he was in a breakdown, I completely ignored him and continued playing my game. He walked near me and called out to me in sorrow. I scolded him and said that I was in a crucial situation in my game and I half heartedly asked him to go away.

After hearing this, he shifted his focus to my father. My father who was not as disgraceful as me, asked him what had happened. My Grandfather simply took out a report. My father took it looking at him weirdly just to read that my Grandfather had cancer. Everyone stood shocked and i let out a tear as i regretted what i had said to him.
