This was, however, before the Mongols invaded the Germanic tribes of the area and pushed them to invade through Rome to flee. Eventually, they made their way through Spain and to the North African coast. After invading Carthage, they rose to prominence in the region, gaining land and eventually storming Rome. Their religion was Arian Christianity, or the belief that God created Christ and rather than a trinity, there is only God.
