         <description><![CDATA[<div>Do you consider yourself punk? Well, Maria Luise, preferably called Malu, considers herself punk. This book the first rule of punk is all about her, she is moving to chicago. She is a girl who loves her dad, as he gets her, but her mom on the other hand want her punk daughter to act like a senorita. Her mom is the one who is moving to chicago for work, and malu is coming with her. Her dadis staying at home. The first day of school at her new school she insisted on wearing makeup, it was the first time, so she got dress coded. In her first period class there is a girl with a candy necklace named selena. Selena always makes fun of Malu, but Malu doesn't let it get to her.</div><div>	The First rule of punk has won:Pura Belpre Honor Book an alsc notable children's book, a tomas rivera mexican american children's book award winner, an aba indies introduce title, a kids indie next list pick, an E.B. write read-aloud middle reader honor book, an amelia bloomer list book, a ccbc choices title, and more! The author has only written one book;the first rule of punk.
