Racial Injustice is when a person in discriminated or treated differently based off the color of their race or ethnicity. This mostly happens to African Americans. It affects the amount of money they make, the job they get, the way police officers see them, etc.

B. Chronological/Sequential: How being an African American can affect your day to day. life

The first thing is that you don't have as much privilege as a person with white skin. For example, in a peaceful protest for BLM, DeRay Mckesson- a civil rights activist, podcaster, former school administrator and and African American- and many other African Americans were arrested for peacefully protesting. Then in the raid of the Capitol, Riley June Williams who is white, stole Nancy Pelosi's laptop and planned to sell it. She was caught and her punishment was a warning and travel restriction. Riley June Williams did more damage then DeRay Mckesson did yet he still got put into jail for a longer time. Secondly, they are discriminated more. For example in finding a job, the boss might think we isn't hard working or he isn't as good as a white person could be. Lastly, many people assume thing because they have darker skin. They assume that every African American is dangerous or they assume that all African Americans can harm people.

C. Cause and Effect: How does being an African American in the US affect your life.

Well there are many reasons why being an African American in the USA can affect how you live. One things is that if you are looking for a job or a place to live, people assume that you are dangerous or they assume that you don't have a lot of money. And if they do have a job, that causes people to not pay you as much just because the color of your skin. Another good example is that many police officers assume that just because an African American is in a car, it means they are dangerous or have something illegal in their car. This causes many African Americans to get shot and killed every year because of how many people assume that they are bad. 1 in every 1,000 African Americans get shot and killed by a police officer.

D. Problem and Solution: What are some problem African Americans face and how can we fix them

The problem was that a lot of people of color especially black people were and still are getting killed by police officers. Most of the people that get killed dont have a reason for getting killed but some do. For the officers that killed people for no reason, they go to jail which is one solution but it doesn't mean other officers are going to stop. One solution for this problem is for police officers to wear body cameras so people know what happened and so that African American do go to jail for no reason. This problem has caused many protests. Protesting doesn't get people very far because the protesters usually get arrested or hurt even if they are peacefully protesting. There are many challanges but the biggest challenge is for African Americans being able to go somewhere without everyone assuming they are armed and dangerous. Keia Jones-Baldwin is an African American who adopted Princeton, 2, on August 29, 2019. One time both Keia and Princeton were in a store when Princeton needed to use that bathroom. Keia carried Princeton to the bathroom and when they came out, two white women were there because they thought Keia had kidnapped Princeton. The two women the proceed to call the cops and then Keia had to show the officers her adoption paper and they were free to go. But this show how much people assume which is a problem.
