This way, companies can cut their wages. India's workforce is growing rapidly and by 2020 is expected to have the largest workforce in the world. Indians accept lower paying jobs because of how many people are looking for jobs, the workforce in India can be very fierce and for somebody who needs money and low paying job is what they need. In addition to accepting lower pay, in India they have a lower cost of living. What this means is that things such as food and clothing cost much less than somewhere like America. After traders had brought English to India in the 1600's, schools were set up by Great Britain for Indians to be taught English. English is now the main language of business. Many children in Indian cities are sent to school that will help them learn English because of their parents. In addition to lower wages and english speakers, having trained workers is a huge advantage for information technology. Americans are aware that the work from the Indians will be good considering the different technical fields they are taught. Although the law in India is that children up to the age of 14 have to go to school, in reality only about half of the children attend school till that age. Some children don't go to school because of poverty and others still associate education with caste. The amount of amount of Americans working for foreigners is now around 5 million which has doubled since 1987. These jobs are helping to make up for the ones lost due to outsourcing. Each caste fixed a jobs they could do, the higher castes had jobs like priests and warriors and the lower castes had jobs like farmers and laborers. This however, has changed. India now has adopted information technology to try and quickly grow their economy which so far has been a success.
