LLA REFLECTION

It has been such a great day full of tears and sharing sessions. This is the first class that has meant so much to me. All this while, most of the classes that I attended rarely talked about family bonding or even share stories about families. This class has opened my mind. At first, I did not think that I would cry while watching the video because I have  watched it before. However, when I saw the daughter hugging her  father, I was hit with a sudden wave of sadness as I reminisced my memories with my father. I was amazed at how beautifully the director plotted the whole scene and incredibly touched so many hearts.

Moving on to the Cat’s In The Cradle song. I really enjoyed the melody of the song. It is more than just music to my ears. As I read through the lyrics, it became clear to me what the song was about. The song made me realise that it is true that main obligation to provide a stable financial support for the family lies on the father. However, the father should not neglect the other responsibilities that he is bearing. It is true that money cannot buy everything but everything in this world needs money. Education, personal insurance, medical expenses, daily food intake, clothes and all of other things in this world require money. In my opinion, no matter how busy a father is, he should be able to spend some time with his son because after all, precious time with loved ones is not exchangeable to any valuable in the world.

I want to share a bit regarding to my father. I truly love him but then, like Madam Diana said, man has their own ways to show their affection towards us. Same goes to my father. He rarely says that he loves me. We never have a conversation on phone longer than two minutes. He seldom compliments me even when I get good results. He is always busy with his work. Whenever he comes back from work, he is already tired and always goes to sleep earlier than us. I know he had a rough time in providing us a better life. He is a silent one, my father, but he never fails to show his affection to all three of us. There was this one time when I was 15, I cooked for the entire family to give my mother some well-deserved rest. Everyone didn’t eat my cooking, merely because it wasn’t tasty enough, except for him. He finished everything without saying a word and patted me on the head a gesture of appreciation for me. At that moment, I know that he is truly loves me.It is just the way he show his affection towards me that is truly different but I know he is just being he. Back then, I always complained to my mother that my father did not seem to care for me but when I think back, I realise that he does love me;  it is just that his way of showing affection is different from others.
