Martin Luther was a German monk who started the protestant Reformation. Martin Luther is known as the most influential and controversial figures in christian history.
      
     Martin Luther has been very brave these past few weeks. Martin Luther is going to be the one to change the world. He has done something that needed to be done but no one had the guts to do. He nailed something to the Catholics door called 95 theses. It is just a bunch of bad things about the Catholics. 

 Now Martin Luther has the guts to come up with his own religion called Lutheranism. By the talks of Martin Luther Lutheranism is going to be the next big religion. Martin Luther felt the need that god told him to do this. When he got a little older, he moved and wanted to be the best monk there was. He was in a place called Erfurt. But soon he realized he couldn't be that holy. He ran away from the altar later during his life in that place.  
  Luther was an angry man. In 1517, he assaulted the catholic doctrine. He did this for the good though. He wanted them to start doing the right things, not the wrong. He wanted to try to fix their ways. He believed good works did not count for the people. 
 Luther believed in freedom of will and choice. They thought predestination as a punishment and not a spiritual liberation. Throughout Luther's life, he spread his opinions to quite a few religious leaders. He would share his thoughts and argue theirs, based on what he believed. He put 95 theses on the Church of Rome, he promised that he would fight for what he believed in. The 95 theses were about how to denied that the pope could remove any penalties imposed on a man by God, attacked the sale of indulgences as superstitious, and questioned the existence of purgatory as a state of the soul after death. I asked Martin why he did this he said, ¨I did this to prove what I believe in I can not give up on anything that I believe if I gave up would I really believe in it.¨ 
              Martin Luther did not want to attack anyone he just wanted to prove his point. When he  put the 95 theses on the doors of the church he just stated how he felt about everything. He emphasized the necessity of inner sorrow for sins and questioned the necessity of external acts of piety. He didn´t feel confident in what the church was teaching the people so he told the church how he felt. 
               He had the encouragement of his friends to state how he feels. Martin Luther felt very strongly on how the church was teaching his people and how it was wrong. Martin wrote the bible in German so that other people could read it.
