I will not use this every time, but when opportunities arise for purposeful use.  My students currently  use to video tape their reading out loud. My idea is that during guided practice time on the day an assignment was actually assigned, students would get in their pairs and work together on the assignment. Then the next day at the beginning of class, the pairs would all get in their squares to compare work and strategies on what is hopefully their completed work. 

As for celebrating individual growth, I had previously talked about the idea of how I already celebrate mastery on unit tests with stars that students get to put up on a drawing of a fridge door I had an art teacher make for me (looks pretty good), as "fridge worthy."
