First off we will talk about the difference in daytime and night time.The difference between daytime and nighttime is the brightness or the darkness outside.When it is daytime it is light outside, the sun is shining, and you can see.In the nighttime it is dark, there are normally lights to allow you to see but the sky is dark, and it is hard to see.You will most likely see airplanes, birds, and helicopters flying in the sky during the daytime when the sun is out.At nighttime, you might see a plane but besides that, there isn't anything in the sky at night, it is too dark.At this moment once we have discussed the difference in daytime and nighttime, the students will use a Venn-diagram to compare the differences.We would then discuss what the students put in their Venn-diagram. The students might have said some of the following. In the nighttime, there are stars in the sky and you can see the moon. In the daytime, there are not stars you can see but you can see the sun, shining bright. You can see clouds in the daytime but not at nighttime. You can see birds in the daytime but not in the nighttime. I would then show them a kindergarten friendly video about the sky and the night time and the daytime. After watching the video, we can add more differences to our Venn diagram.
When you wake up in the morning, it is normally bright outside. Meaning it is daytime. When you go to sleep at night, it is normally dark outside. Meaning it is nighttime. The sun goes to sleep when you do and it wakes up when you wake up.
What comes out when the sun goes to sleep?
The moon comes out at nighttime!
The sunrises in the morning and the daytime
The sunsets in the night, and the nighttime.
