         <description><![CDATA[<div>1. Level 1 and Level 2 offenses are handled by the teacher<br>2. If student is referred for multiple minor offenses (level 1 or level 2) then we will:</div><ul><li>Remove student from class for a short amount of time</li><li>Reset student by talking to them and/or calling their parents</li><li>Return them to class<ul><li>Students should be welcomed back to class once they have been disciplined</li><li>Refrain from continuing to antagonize or chastising the child</li><li>Remember, we have handled the situation. (You risk triggering the student on a incident that was already resolved.)</li></ul></li></ul><div>3. Level 3 and 4 offenses are handled by administration. <strong>DO NOT CODE ANYTHING FOR LEVEL 4 IN PS UNLESS IT MEETS THE CRITERIA PER THE CODE OF CONDUCT.&nbsp;</strong></div><ul><li>For any level 3 or 4 offenses, you will receive an email from Dean Kwesi if those offenses result in disciplinary action</li><li>These offenses generally result in the following disciplinary actions<ul><li>Restorative conversation (student-student)</li><li>Community Service</li><li>Detention (After-School)</li><li>In-school Intervention (ISI)</li><li>ISS (In-school suspension)</li><li>OSS (Out of school suspension)</li></ul></li></ul>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>3rd grader caught with vape<br>* Student A took a vape from home and brought it to school</div><ul><li>Student A gave the vape to Student B, who is also in 3rd grade</li><li>Student B passed the vape around in his class</li><li>Teacher reported the issue to Principal Johnson and vape was confiscated</li><li>All students were removed from class as admin got to the bottom of the issue</li></ul><div>This is a serious situation because it does involve minors possessing and distributing a tobacco product<br><br><strong><mark>STILL....</mark></strong></div><ol><li>Admin/Behavior team was bound by parameters set in code of conduct and had to follow them</li><li>Vaping for any grade level is a Level 1 or Level 2 offense</li><li>Parents were contacted and students returned to class</li></ol><div><br><strong><mark>YOU CAN HELP BY...</mark></strong></div><ul><li>Familiarize yourself with the levels of responses so that you are not surprised when students are brought back to class</li><li>Speak up!
