I think by highlighting the broken pieces on the white back ground, I am starkly embedding their damaging to the viewer, and making it known almost as a reminder that homes and places with memories can shatter and change with time. The wire in a swirl pattern is used to make the view aware that there is confusion and upsetting feelings towards a change as such, as swirls can often represent.
