The first book is about how Principessa Serafina is preparing for her Dokimi ceremony which proves if she is worthy of becoming the next ruler of Miromara after her mother, Queen Isabella. As her Dokimi is going on, people attack her kingdom and end up killing her father and horribly wounding her mother. Serafina quickly leaves to get to safety so no harm comes to her and in doing so, she runs to find her uncle but instead of easily finding him, she is faced with a long, hard, tiring journey with meeting friends and foes along the way she wishes to protect and fight for her kingdom and regain control of it once and for all, no matter the costs that come tied with it. I loved reading this book because I love any fantasy book I can get my hands on. I loved this book and series especially because it is about mermaids, the sea/ocean, and the dangers it entails.
