The models of masculinity and femininity have been changing for some time now in regards to gender roles. This change of what is seen to be normal in gender roles has caused some people to question their identity and how it aligns with their gender.  

This challenging of what it means to be a male or female has uncovered that there are not just two genders. These are the different expectations of how people should display their gender and the different  opportunities they have according to their gender.

From a scientific perspective the sex of a person is biological and does not change. Either having XY or XX chromosomes and reproductive organs that a person is born with. 

Gender on the other hand is not as clear cut. People that identify as a different gender than what they were assigned at birth deviate from the norms of male and female. talk gender fluid change and acceptance of difference in gender norms and roles.

Although gender is a mental shortcut for people to use to access other or stereotype. Labelling people into different categories helps people to feel more in control and comfortable in this unpredictable world. This labelling is common but does it need to happen?
