"After two days of travel, thirst became intolerable, as did the heat". (Wiesel 23)

Eliezer and all the Jews were limited to food and water during their trip to the Concentration Camp.

This event is important because all these innocent people were suffering and were limited on water and food. This was only the start of their journey and all the suffering that was ahead of them. This chapter of the book connects to State-Sponsored Violence because they were starved while heading to the Camp and they were pressured to walk faster.

" (Wiesel 29)

When everyone arrived at the Concentration Camp they realized they were lied too and they were all separated from each other.

Arriving to the Concentration Camp was an important event in the book because that's when terror for Eliezer and the group of Jews he was with began. (Wiesel 67)

Rosh Hashanah is the Jewish New Year, where they celebrate Gods creation of the world but due to the situation Eliezer was in he just questioned his faith in God.

Rosh Hashanah is an important event in this book because it shows how Eliezer struggled to continue to keep his faith in God and believe that he would do miracles. Struggle with religious faith is a theme that could be connected to this chapter in the book because I believe not just Eliezer struggled to keep his faith but so did many others because God would allow many cruel things happen to them.

(Wiesel 85)

Eliezer and the rest of the prisoners were forced to run and increase there pace no matter how tired they were because the SS had orders to shoot anyone who wasn't able to keep the pace they were going at.

This is an important event because it was another terrible experience Eliezer had and during there evacuation Eliezer had thoughts about leaving his dad, just like Rabbi Eliahou's son left him. This connects to Individual survival vs. The Collective Good because Eliezer was only looking out for himself and didn't realize the damage that caused his father.

" Three days after the liberation of Buchenwald, I became very ill: some form of poisoning". (Wiesel 115)

Eliezer had become severely ill and spent two weeks in the hospital between life and death.

This event was important because all the prisoners were set free from the Concentration Camp but Eliezer still had to face one last challenge. The time he had in the hospital he was able to see himself in a mirror and the last time he did was when he was in the Ghettos. Individual survival vs. The Collective Good is a connection on this event because it shows that Eliezer survived the Concentration Camp and many didn't.
