I found the experience a bit too much for my skill set. JSFiddle does appear very intimidating at first, especially with the four menus open in front of you at once. Despite  my initial reaction though, once I went back and forth between the "tool school" video, and trying it out for myself, I found that JSFiddle wasn't so difficult to use after all! I am NOT a computer programmer. I tend to 'rage quit' when something basic doesn't work on my computer... but I figured it out with the help of tool school. I played around with the colouring and font as well as changed the words and, surprise, I made a digital poem. Once you get the hang of what everything means and does, it is fairly straightforward and kind of fun! I have left programming when entering university as it got very intense but it was actually so much fun putting my skills to the test again. I quite like programming. It is fun to play around with many things. I loved playing around with the background colours and fonts. I changed it up many times until I decided to just have it look this way with these colours. I think this website is a great tool for those learning how to work with Java. It allows you to play around with the code and see the output and really understand how the Java language works. This was super difficult for me to grasp this week and spent a lot of time trying to navigate JSFiddle. It was pretty cool to see things come together at the end and I began to feel more confident with the more time I spent on it. The possibilities are endless when remixing this poem and it was difficult to know which words would sound best. Okay, WOW. This was so much new material for my brain, but it was a really cool experience once I got the hang of it. I still have no idea what I'm doing, really, but it was super cool to plug words in, change colours, etc., and then to click "Run" and see your changes come to life. Once I accessed JSFiddle I felt quite overwhelmed with all of the text and different codes that consumed my entire screen. But, I stayed calm and I was able to easily adjust the CSS Style sheet which allowed me to change the colour of the font, the colour of the background, the font type, and the font size. When working with the JavaScript I found it more difficult to adjust. I adjusted the speed of the poem which was my favourite aspect to adjust. I was also, able to substitute out different words in the JavaScript. I enjoyed playing around with the different colours, fonts, font sizes, and so on. I ended up switching out the words that were already used for synonyms that I liked (for height, I used zenith instead) in Taroko Gorge. In the end, I'm pretty satisfied with what I did in JSFiddle. Having four menus and barely understanding any in detail was humbling. After messing around a bit and following Tool School I got to create something interesting. To be honest, even after getting comfortable playing with JavaScript I still held my breath each time I ran the code. 

I had a lot of fun with it, especially coming up with a theme. It was nice to see how others remixed theirs.

I think the thing I found most difficult was coming up with words that made cohesive statements. After watching the Tool School, I decided to pick a topic to focus on, so I tried to think of words that worked with figure skating (hence the poem's name change). The sentences are quite a bit shorter in the beginning stanzas, which I think is kind of neat, and I'm finding it really cool how much different combinations of words work, even if they normally wouldn't make a whole lot of sense - here, they suggest, and leave to interpretation. 

It took me a couple tries to figure out how to make the text of the poem a different colour but it is SO COOL when you finally figure out how to do something. Once I watched the tool school video, the coding itself wasn't difficult to understand. I had more trouble picking words I wanted to use that would flow when randomly selected. The tutorial video had mentioned not changing the words in const above and below but I ended up changing a few just to alter the theme of my version of the poem. I found that the ability to change the colour, font, and text size was easy to do and added another visual layer to the moving poem. I feel like if I was more familiar with the program and the different coding possibilities, I could have made a more interesting piece.
