- She went to Smith College and studied government.
- She helped create the New York magazine, and wrote a column on politics.
- Did not want to follow the typical life path for women in the 50's - motherhood and marriage
- In the 70's, she began collaborating with other feminists and writing about women's rights
- She wrote a book called "Revolution from Within: A Book of Self-Esteem" that ended up getting a lot of backlash and criticism.
- Even with all the hate from her work, she still stands behind everything she believes in
- There is a biography written by Carolyn G. Heilbrun about Gloria's life and her strong feminist views
- In 2000, Gloria Steinem ended up getting married to David Bale. I think hearing from a feminist and activist made an impact on how big of a deal it is to have a female superhero. As a young girl, I always associated superheroes with being men and that women always played the more vulnerable roles.
