His astronomic work would later influence great minds such as Galileo and Copernicus. It would also contribute to technological advancements later and the knowledge found would be considered of great value towards education and religion. 

Here are some of the things the Zij contained. 



- Found the Sun's orbit was central but incomplete (which also proved eclipses of the Sun were possible

- Contained planetary, lunar and solar tables

Despite coming from a religious background and considered Muslim he was not a believer in the Sabian religion.
