These are pinhole photos that i made from a lunch box. I made sure that i covered the box with pollysheeting and duck tape and used a pin to poke a hole into the bottom of the camera to create a pinhole, in order for a tiny amount of light to get through. I then had to put it into the developer for 1 min 30 secs, the the stop tray for 30 secs followed by the fix tray wich lasted for 6 mins the I had to leave it in water for about 5 minuites. This can also be called a camera obscura. Camera obscura Is Latin and means darkened chaimber (room), the image is rotated and shown reflecting the object.

How was it created:
I exposed the light sensitive paper to the sunlight for 1 minuite because it was quite sunny outside. The effect it had on the end result was when it came to the point where we were able to see our images, i couldnt because the dark part of the images are where i over exposed it and the light parts are where i under exposed it, so i should have left it exposed for probably a minuite and 30 seconds. this is not what i intended and i did experience some problems when my lid was coming off as i was making my way to my location to do my pinhole camera. this could also probably have meant that light got onto my paper before intended.

Formal elements
I had to make sure that i didnt under expose my paper or over expose it. This is because the more over exposed it is, the adrker your image would be and the more under exposed it is, the less darker it would be. I also feel like it wasn't composed very well either.

Successes
Personally i would say i do not have any successes with my pinhole photographs because the actual object hasnt appeared on the photo and on some parts i exposed my paper for too long. My photography relates to some other people in my class that had the same problem such as their photo coming out all black due to exposing it to light for too long, and I wouldn't say my work relates to anyone that i have researched.

Weeknesses
To correct my photographs being black and not showing the full image next time i would need to time it properly and for longer. In the future hopefully the full image will appear.

Photograms are like mini exrays. You can see a vast amount of detail in the object as shown on the leaf (The vains). In order for my outcome to be sucesful i had to place the objects onto the paper, then make sure all lights were turned off, i then had to count to 8 then the light would be switched off. After, i had to put it into the developer tray, the stop tray, the fix tray then lastly the water tray. 

How was it created:
I placed different objects onto light sensitive paper I the dark room, then used a lamp to shine light onto the paper with the objects on it for 8 seconds in order for the images to print their shape. The end result turned out well because i timed it properly which is what i intended to happen.  However i did experience some difficulties which was the timer wasn't at 8 seconds causing some people's work to not be very successful and then having to change the timer back to 8 seconds after it had been at 5 secinds for example.  

Formal elements
I used a leaf a concor shell and a pretty cut out decoration. I used these because for the leaf i wanted to see the detailed vains. I also chose the other images such as the concor because i wanted to see the prikkely edges and the dsigns on the cut out.

Successes
I am pleased that i was able to see some vains on the leaf and the prikkely edges of the concor. I am also pleased that i was able to keep on task while doing this piece of work. I feel like it meets/relates to the idea of Gyorgy Kepes's work as well.
 
Weaknesses
In this photogram i haven't come across anything that i feel i could do better, except from wanting the vains of the leaf to be more dominant.  in the future im not sure what i can do except leave the light on for a longer amount of time however the rest of my photo came out quite clear.

In a lot of Kepes's images, he uses geltin, Silver print on paper. For example this process was used to create the 'PM' photo (1939-40). Another example of when he uses geltin and silver print on paper, is when he photographed the 'Hand on black ground' (1939-40) This image is of a hand surrounded by a pitch black atmosphere. This also represents the outcome of a photo after using a camera obscura. 

Kepes also produced his photographs in a dark room, by placing objects onto light sensitive paper then illuminating them. He'll then like to explore abstractions and perceptions while he experiments with light directly. 

In order for Gyorgy Kepes's work to be succesful, he mainbly used: Light, space, movement, as well as tensions between those elements.

Formal elements
I changed the colour depending on the surroundings and thought to use the lines such as the railings to make my picture look less boring. I feel like I have composed these images very well, with the angles I have taken the photos.

Successes
I like that all my white balance photos which is including the trees came out good quality and with no blur, i also like how i positioned the camera. It meets my intended mood because that is how i intended the photos to come out. Compared to many other photographers i still need some improvement especially on knowing the camera and where everything is. To improve this, i need to continue using a Nikon camera to get use to it and i also need to buy my own SD card because that also set me back when uploading my photos.

For my ISO pictures, I used a Nikon camera. I wasn't so impressed with the outcome because it was my first time playing around with the ISO on a camera. This was not what i intended and i found it difficult with getting the perfect angle out on the balcony.

Formal elements
I am not pleased with the composition because i didn't know what i was doing and i used the white balance which is blue and tried to create an view looking into the distance of Clapham park.

Successes
The most successful parts of the photographs are how i got the ISO to become bright and i am now able to see what the different ISO's look like in photos clearly. Compared to others i feel like these photos could have been better.

Weeknesses
The least effective parts of this photo is how i was crouched and not holding the camera properly.  In the future i'll be sure to sit properly and hold the camera to take the photo.

This is not what i intended however it did come out well. I did not expreience any difficulties because i was takeing picures of anything that was around and being creative as showing in the middle picture.

Formal elements
For my composition i went close up to Joe to see how it would come out as a close up and for the middle picture i thought to create a person walking on a path leading to somewhere where no one knows. For the middle picture i used a flouresent colour and the rest normal camera. 


Weaknesses

I am happy with how these photos came out and how i portrayed these images. This is what i intended and i did experience some problems with communicating with the model how i wanted their facial expressions to be, for example in the last picture where Camila is holding her jacket looking cold she is smiling when the mood is suppossed to be cold and depressing, however this is my fault because i wasn't clear enough. 

Formal elements
For my composition i told Camila to sit with her head down to create a snese of mystery and for the audience to wonder what her thoughts were, this is also portrayed in the last photo with her holding her coat up. I wanted to have the capture a photo of her further away in one of the photos and i thought having rocks in the image would create a sense of hard obstacles she has to encounter, because rocks are hard a rough. 

Successes
I like how i was able to show coldness and someone deep into their thoughts by having a photo with them being further away
