The three most pivotal concepts learned from this article are that </p><p>it almost divided the Confederacy in to two halves, it has not been officially determined who</p><p>won the battle, attempts made by the Confederates to attack the Union's right flank failed causing many injuries and death.</p><p>2. This battle held significance in ending the war because it was a Union victory that allowed Grant and the rest of the Union army to continue on their way to attacking Richmond. However it would of course lead into Cold Harbor which was a Union failure.</p>]]></description>
