Ever since the “first agricultural revolution” around 10,000B.C.E, when the human race planted the first seed into the ground, the way that we approach food and farming has constantly been evolving. It was this revolution that paved the way for the Industrial and agricultural revolution of the late 2nd millennium, that led to rapid industrialization of the of the world that allowed us to reach the point that we are at today and made Britain one of the most powerful and feared nations in the world. In this essay I will discuss how the agricultural and industrial revolutions of 18th - 19th century Britain allowed it’s people to stop relying on subsistence farming as a primary source of income and food by turning agriculture into an intensive, efficient, highly mechanized process. I will discuss how this made Britain the nation that it is today and where it will take it in the future.
