This program was designed using Tara Yosso’s cultural wealth theory. The GTSF program recognizes that low-income families in San Francisco already have a significant wealth of knowledge of their neighborhood(s) and experience with managing familial capital. For this reason, we are utilizing community education to deepen the connection to this pre-existing knowledge and to build on knowledge regarding families and nutrition.
