Google have just launched a project to expand their Maps so that users can see floor plans of large (and complex!) public buildings. We've noticed that only two Universities in the UK have utilised this new technology so far, and wondered if our University could also lead on this global project?

We understand that the demand for technical help or repairs for every device would be too great for the Service Desk to deal with, but wondered if instead, a partnership could be made with an external company?
 
For example, we would send our students directly to an official partner repair shop (e.g. North East Peripherals on George St) for repairs/help etc, which would be thousands of potential new customers for them, and in return they give our students a (20%?) discount on any work. 

This might help to solve the BYOD quandary of how to fully support our students and all their devices, with a small Service Desk team and limited budget. It could help to create a positive experience for the students, and hopefully take some strain from the team?
