If an educator does not consider all of their students in their lesson plan and classroom that is a problem. IEP's are a great tool to ensure that teachers are being inclusive in the classroom. Teachers should always be ready with backup batteries or pencils if needed for the use of an AT.

Assistive Technology doesn't always mean a computer!

The great thing about AT is that not one size fits all. An AT for a student can be anything that helps the student function at the same level as everyone else. This essentially means that Writing templates, pencil grippies, a pointer, or sticky notes can all be AT for a student!

Inclusion always matters! Differentiated does not mean that students are left behind, but rather accomated in different ways to meet everyones needs. The main focus is on delivery and planning ahead.

Personally, I belive that in order to create good content, you have to know what you want your end product/goal to look like. With Differentiated Instruction its easy to almost plan the steps the opposite way they are delivered in the classroom. If you set goals for what you want the students to learn and identify by the end of a lesson, creating the content will be easy!
