More specifically the types of branding used as a way of promoting a unique distinguishing brand to differentiate from other comedy clubs 
and comedy festivals.

As comedy is a very broad subject area I used the branding of comedy clubs and festivals and other events as a way to direct my focus. Also as a starting point, to be able to guide myself into forming potential and basic ideas for my motion graphics. 

From my research from into different branding techniques used when promoting the comedy genre, specific aspects used influenced my development of ideas. For example, the way in which, on a whole, all the brands used vibrant and visually appealing colours as a way to make their brand stand out and distinguishable. In addition to this I was influenced by the typography used in the logos as they were all boldened and had a bubble like style. In order to come up with ideas my research took me into looking into  comedic, funny and quirky motion graphics. 

The research I was conducting lead me into developing an interest for the movement of real life objects. This allowed me to research into the movement of transportation in motion graphics which in turn enabled my to develop more concrete ideas and begin to illustrate my ideas as a basis for my ident.

From my researched that I did, researching into comedic children's television programmes and films I became interested in the sea life aspect of the research did. I  looked into motion graphics and gifs that used sea creatures, as well as other animals, in their designs. This influenced me as I could get an idea of the way in which they were created and made to move in relation to their real life counter parts. As a result I became increasingly interested in sharks and wanted to design a piece with a shark in it due to the research in children's television and motion graphics research.

Following on from this I discovered that all these youtube channel idents had various elements in common, for example: 

- The bold typography 
- The vibrant colours 
- The varying styles of motion graphics 
- The complexity of the designs.

Therefore, I decided to use all these elements in conjunction within my own Ident. I wanted to all these elements to be symbiotic to one another as well as being balanced as a whole but still making the ident visually appealing.

For example, I found that bubble writing was used heavily in these designs that were centred around comedy. As a result I want to include this style of typography in my design when I'm going to finish making my ident and start to include text.

I also went online and found a numerous amount of typography websites that allowed me to generate comedic styles which I thought were influential and allowed me to hone in on styles that I could potentially use in my final design.

Although my design was centred around sea life and the ocean I could not digress from my theme of comedy.
