Motion Tween Animations - Motion tweens are used to create animation movements within Animate. Motion tween animation is created by specifying different values for an object property between the first and the last frames. The object properties vary from position, size, colour, effects, filters, and rotation. When you create a motion tween, you select any frame in the tween and move the motion symbol on that frame. Unlike Classic and Shape tweens, Animate automatically builds a motion path animating the frames between the first frame and the next key frame.

Multiple Object Animations - Multiple objects can be animated at once on the timeline. Flash allows for full control over a wide range of symbols, drawings and layers.

The Motion Editor Panel -The Motion Editor panel in Adobe Flash CS6 gives you precise control over each aspect of a motion tween. The Motion Editor displays the various properties of a motion tween (such as position, scale, and transparency) in a graph-style format that you can use to edit or add to animations.

Other Tweening types - In shape tweening, you draw a vector shape at one specific frame in the Timeline, and change that shape or draw another shape at another specific frame. Animate then interpolates the intermediate shapes for the frames in between, creating the animation of one shape morphing into another. Animate allows you to add shape tweens to uniform solid strokes and non-uniform fancy strokes. You can also add shape tweens to strokes enhanced using the Variable Width Tool. Experiment with the shapes you want to use to determine the results. You can use shape hints to tell Animate which points on the beginning shape correspond to specific points on the end shape.

Classic Tweens - Classic tween refers to tweening in Flash CS3 and earlier, and is maintained in Flash primarily for transition purposes. Because the new motion tweens are easier to use and offer much more functionality than classic tweens, you should use the new model whenever possible. 

Fixed Point Animation - In Adobe Flash Professional CS5 when you position-tween an instance across the Stage, you see a motion path for that animation appear on the Stage. The motion path is a line that represents the spatial movement of the tweened instance; its dots (sometimes called "tween dots" or "frame dots") represent the target objects position along the path at frames on the timeline—either single frames, or groups of frames if you have a long tween span selected. The tween dots not only signify frames, but can help you see the instance's position as affected by any applied easing or 3D.

Creating Buttons - Buttons in Animate are symbols that contain four frames. Each frame of a button symbol represents a different state for the button: Up, Over, Down, and Hit. These states determine how a button visually behaves when the mouse is rolled over it or when the user clicks the button. This document explains how to create basic and advanced buttons.

Creating movie clips - Movie clips in Adobe Flash CS6 are created as new, empty symbols as well as from existing content on the stage. If you create a movie clip from scratch, you can add animation and graphics later by editing the symbol. None-animated graphics converted to movie clips behave the same as graphic symbols, so you can place, tween, and modify instances on the stage. The difference, however, is that you can always add animated content later to the movie clip by editing it and creating tweens on its own Timeline. In most cases, you take full advantage of movie clips by adding animation in a new movie clip symbol. To do so, you can start with a new, empty movie clip symbol and add the animated content afterward.

Action Scripting- ActionScript is an object-oriented programming language. ActionScript is used primarily for the development of websites and software targeting the Adobe Flash Player platform, used on Web pages in the form of embedded SWF files.
