The word 'Tumaini' is Swahili for hope.the Tumaini fund is a christian charity working to give hope to orphans of Kagera. Many will sleep tonight, on the floor, when they have eaten nothing, and no good shelter and no chance of learning. In Kagera North-West Tanzania there are a ruff amount of 100,000 orphans, commonly due to the disease called AIDS which spread rapidly in the time of the genocides in Rwanda and Burundi. Jesus'brother James wrote "Religion that God our Farther accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world" - James 1:27

By Will and George 6B

he Leprosy Mission runs 14 hospitals in india.Although these hospitals were initially established to care exclusively for people with leprosy, they are now being developed into community hospitals, providing a wide range of health care services. It is becoming more common for people who have leprosy to be treated on the same wards as those with general medical conditions. This helps to break down the mentality of leprosy.Historically, people have been very fearful of contracting leprosy, believing it to be highly catching when this is not the case.
