The electrons fall down the chain. This gives energy to the protein pumps. The protein pumps pump out hydrogen into the intermembrane space. The hydrogen spins the ATP synthase providing energy to make ATP. Oxygen picks up electrons and binds with hydrogen to make water.

The electrons from the Krebs Cycle are distributed to the ETC. The ETC uses the energy from the bouncing electrons to power the protein pumps. The hydrogen, after being pumped, spins the ATP synthase and creates ATP.
