You: Me and Alegria flagged dow people who where about to leave with Maria Doloars since she was very ill. Once we got medical attention we felt better, are face was red,red are faces where and our faces were painfully red. 

Host: Wow. Well, take us back to the beginning. After you lived above a bar, you and Maria Dolores were going to hire some coyotes. What happened to them?

You:  Domingues and the other coyotes had abandoned us in the desert with a couple of other people it was are choice on what to do next.     

Host: Yikes. So that leaves you all alone in the desert. What was crossing the border like?

You: It was very scary and painful, and really painful  and it took us a very long time and like i said we experience mary stuff with are face making me and Alegria unrecognizable. 

Host: I’m so sorry. That’s terrible. We’re all hoping you find Alegria and Maria Dolores soon. Now, you made a difficult decision to turn yourself into the border guard. Why did you do that? What made you think you could trust him?

You:  He gave us things to treat us, and made us think he want us a great perison. 

Host. I see, makes sense. It looks like the guards are telling us to finish the call. Just two more questions, sir: what have you learned so far in the detention center?

You:  I learned how to be haivor and to not steal l any cafeteria food. 

Host: And what are two themes of your journey? Why those?

You: Two themes in our journey is happiness and lonely i think those are the two themes because it like suits  the book more and thats why i think that, I think lonely is one because Santiago was alone in the detention center and thats what i mean by lonely. And happiness because they are a happy family and happy to see each other.

You:yes i am in some trouble but no it is not a prison, i am in a detention center. I had got there because i was trying to cross the border but i had been caught by the guards.

Host: Wow. Well, take us back to the beginning. After you lived above a bar, you and Maria Dolores were going to hire some coyotes. What happened to them?

You: On my journey to the border a white SUV  van shot the car i was in and once they shot my car the car flipped causing us to get stranded in the desert andi dont think dominguez made it out alive before the crash we also were very dehydrated and were also starving it was also very hot 

Host: Yikes. So that leaves you all alone in the desert. What was crossing the border like?

You: We didn't end up crossing the border because Maria got a heat stroke and I wanted to help but I knew there was nothing I could do a little while after the ambulance came. After that all happened me and alegria were about to have a heat stroke as well.after all this had happened we had found a guard and he had gave us some type of water to help us not get dehydrated 

Host: I’m so sorry. That’s terrible. We’re all hoping you find Alegria and Maria Dolores soon. Now, you made a difficult decision to turn yourself into the border guard. Why did you do that? What made you think you could trust him?

You: the guard was reassuring me saying he wasn't a part of the border patrol and you can tell just bye looking at him he was being sincere and wanted to help us 

Host. I see, makes sense. It looks like the guards are telling us to finish the call. Just two more questions, sir: what have you learned so far in the detention center?

You:ive learned how to live on my own since ive been here its has been very hard but i learned a few things from other people here ive also learned that many things take time because were i was they dont really tell you anything and keep things from you and they dont teach you things about the outside. It takes a long time to get any information 

Host: And what are two themes of your journey? Why those?

You: i think two themes of my journey are hopeful and nostalgic because most of the time i had hope for finding alegria and maria or at least be able to have contact again ans see how there doing .and in the detention center i always tried to feel like i was always back at home and feel everything was going to be okay .

You: No it's a detention center. It has very poor living conditions. Maria Dolores didn't have enough money to get over legally, so they had to illegally cross the border. We were soon captured by border patrol.

(Ch. 11) Host: Wow. Well, take us back to the beginning. After you lived above a bar, you and Maria Dolores were going to hire some coyotes. What happened to them?

You: Maria Dolores’s plan failed miserably, and we ended up crashing, me, Alegria, and Maria Dolores survived but the driver was killed in the crash. We had to walk in the hot desert and cross the border illegally by foot. The reason we had to cross the border illegally was because none of us have enough money to get into the U.S legally.

(Ch. 12-14) Host: Yikes. So that leaves you all alone in the desert. What was crossing the border like?

You: It was a grueling experience; I was so thirsty and hungry from walking without having the fuel necessary to keep my body going. In the desert the heat really got to me, and I almost passed out… As soon as I finished crossing the border I was caught… and I had to be held in a detention center.

(Ch. 18-19) Host: I’m so sorry. That’s terrible. We’re all hoping you find Alegria and Maria Dolores soon. Now, you made a difficult decision to turn yourself into the border guard. Why did you do that? What made you think you could trust him?

You: I didn’t think I could trust him; I only went with them because I was accepting my fate. I saw that there was no point in attempting to run away. 

(Ch. 20-23) Host. I see, makes sense. It looks like the guards are telling us to finish the call. Just two more questions, sir: what have you learned so far in the detention center?

You: I've learned that not only are there worse places than La Malvada’s but I've mainly learned that if you want something, you have to work for it.

Host: And what are two themes of your journey? Why those?

You: Two themes? Two themes of my journey are as follows, Resilience and Dedication. The reason i chose those themes is because of the resilience required to be living in the detention center, and also to stand up for myself. I chose dedication as a theme because of my dedication to get to Alegria and find out if she's okay.
