1. How do other people in the neighborhood feel about the Vargas children? Why? Use textual evidence to support your response. 2. This chapter ends with the death of a child. People in the neighborhood don't seem to care because he was a "bad" kid. Describe your thoughts on this. Is it right to not mourn his death because he was "bad?" Explain. 3. Alicia wants to be something different from the traditional female. Alicia is a woman working toward her dream and Esperanza finds much to admire in Alicia. What lines from the text show Esperanza’s admiration?

1) In Esperanza's neighborhood there are these children who are trouble maker, they are known as the Vargas children. They are without respect. People in Esperanza's neighborhood stared to care for them but as time went and the Vargas children were disrespectful people started to get tired of them. They would no longer look at them or help them or even talk to them. It looks like people in the neighborhood no longer care for the Vargas children.

2)
In my opinion I think that it is wrong that people should not mourn Angels Vargas death. I think this because even though he was bad disrespectful he was still a child even the youngest of all the Vargas children. He could have been taught to be good since he was still a child. But since people didn't care they just left them like they were. When bad person is bad and all grown up and knows what not to do and he/she still does it and at the end he/she dies people could no care less because thats not their responsibility. But when you are talking about a child that you are talking about then yes you should care. So in my opinion I really think that people in that neighborhood should mourn Angels Vargas Death.

3)
Esperanza's finds much to admire in Alicia. In the vignettes it says " Is a good girl, my friend". It also says that she doesn't want to bethe girl that Alicia's father wants her to be she want to go to college to have a better career. And that's what Esperanza also wants. Therefore Esperanza admire Alicia.

1 question) The other people in the neighborhood feel about the Vargas kids is that they are bad and not respectful kids. Some evidence about this is “The kids bend trees and bounce between cars and dangle upside down from knees and almost break like fancy museum vases you can’t replace.” This is showing how bad the kids acted and how they are not respectful and also how they make so much trouble.

2 question) people in the neighborhood didn’t really care when the Vargas kid died. I think that just because he was bad doesn’t mean that no one could of cared beacause he was just a kid and he didn’t know that he was doing bad things and his mother didn’t teach him how to act. Some evidence from the text is “The day angel vargas learned to fly and dropped from the sky like a sugar donut, just like a fallen star, and exploded down to earth without even an “oh.” This illustrates how no one even looked once at how the kid fell and died and how they didn’t cared about him diying.

3 question) Some sentences from the vignette are. These are the sentences I pulled out from the vignette showing why Esperanza looks up to Alicia. This is some evidence from the text “ Two trains and a bus, because she doesn’t want to spend her whole life in a factory or behind a rolling pin.” This shows how Esperanza relates to Alicia because Esperanza doesn’t want to be her whole life in “The house on mango street.”

1) The other people in the neighborhood feel about the Vargas kids they are just troublemakers and that they shouldn't care about them. Evidence in the book is " No wonder everybody gave up . Just stop looking out when little Efre chipped his buck tooth on a parking meter and didn't even stop Refugia from getting her head stuck between to slats in the back gate and nobody looked up at once the day Angel Vargas learned to fly and dropped from the sky Ike a sugar donut, just like falling star, no exploded down to earth without even an "oh" . It means that no one cared for the Vargas kids even though they keep hurting themselves or even worse killing themselves. This shows that the neighbors don't care about the Vargas kids .

2) In my opinion , the neighborhood should've cared when Angel Vargas died. Even though he was a troublemaker he is still a child. It's not his fault that his mother didn't really thought him respect because she was always tired . Troublemaker or not they should've cared for him .

3) Esperanza admires Alicia because of her dedication of wanting a good future for herself. Evidence in the book is, " Is a good girl, my friend , studies all nigh and sees he mice , the ones her father says do not exist". It means that Alicia studies very hard instead of waking up early to make food and clean up he house. This shows the fact that Esperanza admires Alicia.

Evidence from the text to support this is,"And nobody looked up not once the day Angel Vargas learned to fly and dropped from the sky like a sugar donut, just like a falling star, and exploded down to earth without even an "Oh." This shows that nobody in the neighborhood cares about the Vargas kids and that people feel that the Vargas kids are unimportant because they didn't care that Angel Vargas died. This shows what the neighborhood feels about the Vargas kids.

2. I feel like the death of the child Angel Vargas should be cared from the neighborhood. This is because he wasn't necessarily a "bad" child he was just sneaky and wasn't obedient probably like any other young child. I feel like the death of the child should've been mourned because a child is a child no matter their behavior. They neighborhood should've been more selfless because the mom is a single mom with a whole load of kids so the neighborhoods should've been more selfless and not give up on them. This is what's I think.

3. Esperanza finds much admiration in Alicia because Alicia want a good future which is why she is studying Andy is goging to a university. Evidence from the text to support this is,"Is a good friend, my friend, studies all night and sees the mice, the ones her father says do not exist." This shows that Esperanza admire Alicia's because Alicante wants a better future for herself and is someone's who is passionate and dedicated to doing what she wants and what she doesn't want.

1) I think that the other people in the neighborhood feel annoyed about the Vargas kids because they are very bad. According to the viennete "There was an old woman she had so many children she didn't know what to do" it states " They are bad those Vargases, and how can they help it with one mother." This shows that the neighborhood thinks they are bad.

2) In my opinion, I think that they should care if a child. I think this because what if that kid was good and still dies and noone cares that he's dead and don't even call for help, how would you feel if that's happened to you and noone cared. Another reason is because people don't notice, but they'd are losing more and more people especially when it's a kid. My last reason is because if he was one of your family members, would you really let him die and not be able to enjoy more in their future, that'll just be sad.

3) Alicia is a hard working female and and Esperanza finds much admiration from Alicia. According to the viennete "Alicia who seems mice" it states "Alicia who is inherited her mama's rolling pin and sleepiness, is young no smart and studies for the fist time at the university." This shows that this quote is shows Esperanza's

admiration.

Evidence from the text, "House on mango street" , is " But after a while you get tired of being worried about kids who aren't even yours". I believe that is someone was a trouble maker and or a good person that does not mean that is the bad one were to die you don't care because he was trouble maker. I think that a trouble maker is equal to a person who behaves good. Either way at the end of the day you are all sleeping and eating you are all alive.

3.) Esperanza admires Alicia because Esperanza wants be the type of women who goes to college and actually is something in this world. Esperanza doesn't a typical women who stays home and cooks food for everyone when they get home. Alivia shows this example because he dad wants her to stay home, make food, clean the house, and sleep early so she can wake up an make breakfast. But Alicia decides to go to sleep late, study, and goes to college at the same time. This shows why Esperanza admires Alicia.

1.) I believe that other people in the neighborhood feel like the Vargas kids are too much trouble and should not have to be dealt with anymore. I believe this this because in the text it said "but after a while you get tired of being worried about kids who aren't even yours". And that comes to show that after a bit of actually caring it just all gets to be to much and people just give up.

2.) I feel as if someone was a lot of trouble that does not take away from the fact they they are living people especially a kid. I don't see a difference between a "good" kid dying and a "bad" kid they are both human. And at the end of the day that's still someone's kid and they still meant something to someone. So instead of not caring they should have took it as a learning experience not just as a accident that happened.

3.) Esperanza admires Alicia because Alicia is working hard towards what she wants to be and not carrying about what others say about what she wants to be. I know this because in the ext it had said "is a good girl, my friend, studies all night And sees the mice". This part of the text shows that Esperanza admires Alicia because of how hard she works to do something other that she wants to do.

1.)The way that people in the neighborhood feel about the Vargas is that theyare only troublemakers and that they give up on them because why get worried of kids who are not even yours. Evidence from the text that supports this, “But after a while you get tired of being worried about kids that are not even yours.”
2.)I think is not right to moot mourn his death just because he was a bad kid if you would it be in his mother position you wouldn’t like people being so mean and not feel nothing just because you’re kid was a trouble maker, and you would’ve crying so why do things to other when you don’t like other do it to you.
3.)Esperanza does really show the admiration to her friend, because she is working so hard to have a future even that she has a lot of things to get done. Evidence from the text that shows that Esperanza admires her friends is, “Is a good girl, my friend, studies all night and sees the mice, the ones his father says do not exist.” This clearly shows that Esperanza admires her friend.

Meanwhile, the neighborhood is trying to stop the mischief of the kids, then it seemed that the problems were too repetitive and then the neighborhood realized it isn't their children and gave up.

I believe that if someone was a trouble maker or a good person that does not mean that you would not care about it. How did Angel Vargas died. According to the text it states” Efren chipped his buck tooth on a parking meter and didn’t even stop refugia from getting her head stuck between two salts in the back.” This shows how Angel Vargas died and no one did responsible about his dead and no one care.

2) it isn't right to not feel bad of a child's death because a child only had a couple of years already passed and it's very sad to have a child die in the age of a child. Additionally, comparing to a grown person, he or she has already experienced years and years of his or her life but a child's death is way to early for his or her life to end. Lastly, in the text, it stated the reaction of everyone which is "Nobody looked up not once the day Angel Vargas learned to fly and dropped from the sky like a sugar donut".

No wonder Cathy's moving out.

3. There is a line that says
"Is a good girl, my friend" in reference to Alicia. This definitely reflects the fact that Esperanza thinks highly of Alicia.
