On the surface getting a new job offer for better money and/or position can look a perfect change. However, I have to think a lot about it because my previous employer was really good, good benefits, good people to work with. A considerably big risk for me was losing those things. In contrast, the new job was a higher position which can advance my career in the future, better pay and more responsibilities. I think this situation shows me that even a new job or change of jobs can have great risks associated with it. 1.The risks of correspondence were not having a tutor, and it being too hard to learn without one.

2. Not having other students to converse with to help give ideas.

3. Will my results be to the same level as if I had a tutor to help, and be acceptable to present in a CV.

4. What will happen if I get stuck not being able to work something out.

5. Is it worth the risk.

Risks were:
1. Making sure I had a stable place to live.
2. Making sure I could get in to a school.

Huge risk involved in this as there are so many unknowns. The risk of the job not meeting expectations with experience and wage, risk of the new town not being suitable for our family to settle in, risk of the long term opportunities being available or not (like good education for the kids), risk of property also and how easy it will be to own a home, theres also a large risk for me study wise. I did have a huge background knowledge to help with this so it was a lot of unknowns for me. The main risks were the following:

1. I work full time and had no idea of the workload, I didn't know what my routine would be and if I could cope with both work and study.

2. The course could have been very complicated and I may have struggled do complete the work without studying on campus. and having people to physically speak to.

 The risks were:
1 - Moving cities while my wife was in her last trimester, upping the stress levels, and having to organise another midwife.
2 - While moving closer to family in Tauranga, moving cities would move us away from our established social networks and friends
3 - Having to find a rental in a tight property market suitable for a young family and close to work while breaking the lease for our current rental

2) Becoming legally responsible for her financial and medical decisions
3) Finding space for her in our home and whether or not my landlord would allow her to move in, 5 Bedroom home which was occupied by myself and 6 Kids
4) Not keeping up with my own personal needs such as my studies, medical appointments
5) Not being able to attend my children's sports or school outings as often as I use to
6) Having to stop volunteering
