People normally tend to be impressed by the physical appearance of others in the first few seconds. The first impression is an apparent advantage for people to find a good job, or to have new friends. However, to achieve success in life, people need to have good character rather than depending on physical attractiveness. The main reasons for that are character is more long-enduring than physical appearance, and good character creates more factors to success than physical attractiveness.

Character is more long-lasting than physical appearance. Personal character is indeed built up in a long period in their life when people receive DNA from their parents to be a child until their adulthood. It is affected by many factors of the environment and people around them for many years. Therefore, the personal character becomes sustainable and extremely hard to change. A person whose success by their good character is most likely to maintain and promote their career in the long term. In contrast, physical attractiveness normally lasts for about a decade or so. Indeed, the signs of age begin to appear at the age of 30. Especially with women, they usually start having wrinkles, dark spots at 30. Consequently, those around will no longer be impressed by a declined appearance, and the success attained by body attractiveness might no longer occur. For example, Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, the richest and successful men in the world with good character, succeed since they were young until old. Conversely, many stars succeed by their attractiveness in a short time but get bankrupted quickly when they were no longer famous such as Chanh Tin actor. Of course, it can be argued that without a good-looking appearance, people get hard to create a good impression of the opposites which is very important for further communication and job opportunities. However, the impression of physical appearance is not an ideal basis for a long-term relationship. More specifically, if a good-looking appearance does not go along with a good character, trust and assurance will not be maintained, and the impression of the opposites will be changed rapidly. Therefore, the good character creates more sustainable values than physical attractiveness on the way to success. 

Good character creates more factors to success than physical attractiveness. In particular, people with good character usually have more energy to succeed. A transparent goal to success is most likely to be identified, and difficulties to achieve the goal are persistent to be overcome by the person who has good character. Conversely, good-looking but lack of necessary character will not be able to find the clear goal in life, and lack of perseverance on the long way to success. Overcome the physical defect with talent and passion as an actor, he received acclaim for portraying Tyrion Lannister on the HBO television series Game of Thrones, for which he won many prestigious awards, and became one of the highest-paid actors. Of course, it can be asserted that there are many models, actors, actresses, and singers successful with attractive figures, regardless of their character. Admittedly, the number of those successful people is small, and successful duration is limited in the short term. Hence, successful factors are usually created by human character more than physical attractiveness. 

In conclusion, focusing on good character would create more success in life than physical appearance. That can be seen as a long-term assurance for people to succeed in life.
