         <title>My Understanding of The American Dream </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>My understanding of the American Dream is you being able to look at life and how it’s going and just being happy, also with all the love that's around. James Truslow Adams defines the American Dream as<strong> "a dream of social order in which each man and each woman shall be able to attain to the fullest stature of which they are innately capable"(</strong>Adams). Dreams are wishes so my definition of the American Dream is how what you wish for your future will look like. In more depth, fulfilling the America&nbsp; Dream is how you want to shape your life into and reach it. You'd have to do everything you can to make your American Dream come true.&nbsp; In the end everyone just wants to be happy and reaching the American Dream is your own unique way of how you want to live your life.  </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I interviewed my brother Michael Urena. I strongly feel that his life shows that the American Dream is not motivated anymore. From the start Michael was unsure of what&nbsp; to become when asked what you want to be when you grow up. He responded "I never know how to answer that, I never fulfilled that question", many others also feel like this, some just don't know what to do with themselves after high school. However, growing up and taking advice Michael says “I was advised by my parents to always follow what I believed would make me happy and to never just go with the motions. It was always hard to follow or understand when i was younger because I wanted to make other people happy, but I came around to understanding that you have to be a little selfish when it comes to your dreams”. Being selfish for your dream is what many people his age are forgetting, people seem too worried about making everyone around them happy instead of thinking of themselves.   &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In Steinbeck's book he proves that the American Dream is dead. In the book <em>Of Mice and Men</em> two charters, George and Lennie have a dream to live on their own, in the end the realization hits and now this dream cannot come true.  Furthermore, Steinbeck reveals the realization that George knows his dream can't come true hopelessly saying ""I should of knew,"..."I guess maybe way back in my head I did."". He knows there was no hope for his dream from the start but was just blind to face reality. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This song <em>Born in the U.S.A.</em> is about a soldier coming back from the war in Vietnam and realizing the American Dream is no longer obtainable. Coming back from the war in the song it explains how the soldier realizes nothing is the same and that everything is all gone and now there’s nowhere to go. Now home and back from the war the soldier tries finding a job this is displayed in the words "Come back home to the refinery...Hiring man says, "Son, if it was up to me" at this time it is more difficult and he can’t he hired anywhere. Over the years as life passes by the soldier he recollects in the words "I'm ten years burning down the road...Nowhere to run ain't got nowhere to go". Since back from the war the american dream can’t be reached and there’s nothing to do for the rest of the years. &nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>To live in America is not a luxury. The cost to many basic necessities has gone up over the years. In the article Why The American Dream is Dead, Solo Ceesay pointed out that "the price of eggs rose a staggering 60% in 2022". The prices are now rising just too high just for any essentials. Also, with having a hard time handling money Americans had become "$11.67 trillion in debt — a 25% increase from the $9.31 trillion they held before COVID-19". To be in so much debt makes it so much harder to be successful in America.          <description><![CDATA[<div>John Fugelsang is a political comedian who dedicates himself to study the society of America. His main study at the moment is to see if the American Dream still exist in the twenty first century. In the news video John explains that "Americans who are hard working suddenly had their companies sold to foreign investors and lost their jobs". Many jobs are being lost due to companies getting sold to bigger businesses. This is not beneficial to Americans because many people drive to work hard at their job and since businesses change the job is now lost. Keeping a steady job is essential to survive in America without one you'd be very unsuccessful. &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
