         <description><![CDATA[<div>Donatello began his trademark as a sculptor by creating the St Mark in 1411. Saint Mark is a marble statue that stands approximately seven feet and nine inches high and is displayed in the museum of the Orsanmichele church, Using an a large amount of effort, Donatello was able to build off of this with other well known woodcarvings of St. John the Baptist and St. Mary Magdalene.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Donatellos most beloved patron was&nbsp;<a href="https://online.infobase.com/HRC/Search/Details/3?articleId=262497&amp;q=donatello#">Cosimo de' Medici</a>. Donatello made many sculptures for Cosimo, including the reliefs in Brunelleschi's old sacristy and, later, the bronze pulpit in San Lorenzo. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Donatello left a major impact on the sculpting world by the time he was finished. He was known for making sculptures that "could not possibly be more realistic". Donatello also invented <a href="https://online.infobase.com/HRC/Search/Details/3?articleId=262497&amp;q=donatello#">schiacciato</a>, a technique of very shallow carving for narrative reliefs which approximated the effect of drawing and shading on paper. While working in Rome and Siena, his work was also able to impact many young kids in local schools. Donatello passed away on December 16, 1466</div>]]></description>

Some of these would include the marble statue of Saint George (1416) in the National Museum, the prophet Habakkuk (1427), the Annunciation (1433) in the Church of Santa Croce, the bronze David (1440), made for the <a href="https://online.infobase.com/HRC/Search/Details/3?articleId=268349&amp;q=donatello#">Medici Family</a> and now in the Bargello, and Mary Magdalene (1453–55) in the Baptistry, carved in wood.</div>]]></description>
