Stella’s vision is in line to the key competencies of the New Primary Curriculum Framework in Ireland, which outlines the skills and attributes we want to develop in our pupils across all curricula. The EOC OTTER Lab in Scoil Ide developed these skills in our pupils. It was a very progressive initiative which empowered not only our pupils but also our teachers and school leaders. We were so fortunate to have the full support of Dr. Deirdre O Neill in UL , Ciara who had in-depth knowledge of our local area and Ray who was a very supportive school leader.

I would like to know: is it useful to evaluate the effect of activities carried out outside the classroom and their contribution to formal science learning at school? Is this done systematically? How?

Good afternoon everyone, my question is for Ivelina... is there some type of program so that teachers can visit other educational centers, to see first-hand how Education Outside the Classroom has been implemented? I mean stays of a few days and see how they work live

I think it is so important that the teachers and students are at the centre of the learning and that their voice is what guides projects and initiatives. They are on the ground and they know the changing dynamics of education in their specific contexts!! Congrats on your great work

The school principal needs to be commended on their support for the project. It is not common for teachers to get time to plan real and meaningful changes into their classroom practice. Top down support from school management is just as important as teacher motivation - it takes a dedicated team to have real success
