         <description><![CDATA[<div>Site to site VPN generally do not disconnect and are considered "Always on".<br><br>Before you could only  connect to the VPN and nothing else, so that meant if your computer was connected to a VPN and opened a Web browser, your computer went through the VPN connection and then went back out and used the Internet connection on your LAN. This is called a Full tunnel.  <br><br>Current VPN technologies enable you to configure a VPN connection to send only LAN traffic through the tunnel. All other traffic ignores the tunnel. This is a <em>split tunnel</em> and is the most common type of tunnel.<br> </div>]]></description>

May be able to connect where other protocols cannot due to use of port 443<br><br>PPTP used  encryption to create a good connection using TCP but it was not quite as secure as SSTP. It is, however, very compatible with a very wide range of systems<br><br>L2TP uses network layer 2 (as the name implies) for the VPN connection. It can also be used by many Operating Systems, but runs the chance of being blocked by firewalls.</div>]]></description>
