         <description><![CDATA[<div>-the qin emperor thought that the terra cotta army would come alive and protect him in his&nbsp; tomb<br>- these warriors were made out of clay and were&nbsp; were found by&nbsp; farmers digging a well in the spring 1974<br>- the warriors were a mie away from the emperors tomb<br>- the terra cotta warriors were made to protect the emperor when he died<br>- the tomb that the army was supposed to protect had over 700,000 people making it<br>- the underground city is the largest known tomb ever to be built<br>- the underground city stretches for more than 9 miles in all directions<br>- their are 3 pits that the terra cotta warriors are in. there was actually 4 but one of them was empty<br>- the largest pit is 775 feet long and 321 feet wide (the size of 5 football fields)<br>- the terra cotta warriors were supposed to represent Emeror Qin's real army which was 1 million strong<br>- the real army was described as "a sea of warriors with the courage of tigers"<br>- no 2 clay figures are exactly alike<br>- soldiers in the emperors living army must've posed for these clay statues because of how lifelike they are</div>]]></description>
