Susie is a 7 year old in 2nd grade. She lives on the outskirts of town.She loves the city and dreams of living there one day. She participates in class really well. She is at a 3rd grade reading level and is very calm and collected but can have outburst of energy. She recently lost her grandma so she has been very sad.

The first book I chose was If You Were a City by Kyo Maclear.I chose this book because it had tons of 5 star reviews and Susie loves the city so this book will be good for her based on the interest she has in the city. This book is a K-1st reading level which will be an easy read for her to do silently.

I chose this book because it is about a child who had recently lost their grandmother. This book is a window for Susie because she also had just lost her grandmother. I know this book is good because it was on the social justice book website. This book is a 3.4 for reading level so it'll be a little challenging for susie which will be good to help her increase her reading skills.

I picked Different Differenter by Jyoti Gupta for Susie because I believe this will be a window to her and get her to learn about other races and cultures. I know this book will be a good book to read because it was on the social justice books website and had many good reviews. This book is a K-3 reading level which will be perfect for susie.

I picked the book Living on Farms by Allan Fowler because since Susie likes the city this will give her an idea of what life is like on a farm.This book is a window for her because she is more into things in the city and now she gets to discover things on a farm. This book is an informational book which will give her facts about the farm. This book is at a 2nd-3rd grade reading level which is the perfect fit for her.

I picked Will Visits the Big City by Olivia Sanders because it is all about one of the biggest cities in the United States which is right up Susie's alley she loves the city. This is a K-2nd reading level.Which is a little lower than what she is at however it won't be too tough for her to read on her own and she will enjoy it because it is all about New York City. I found this book at the barnes and Noble website and it has great reviews that's how I know it is a good one for her to read.

I chose the book Brave Girl: Clara and the Shirtwaist Makers' Strike of 1909 by Michelle Markel. I believe this will be a good read for Susie because I found it on the social justice books website and it'll be a great book for her to learn about the history of women and how they got what we have now. The reading level for this book is K-3 which is a "just right" book for her.This book is also good for her to learn about the history of women and it'll be just challenging enough for her.
