At the end of the plot, the character's image is suddenly clear. From this point of view, the novel is a part of the "york napa collapse law", which reflects Faulkner's creative thought and style.
The southern United States was a place where Puritan ideas were dominant, but after historical rationality of the die, the planter majesty and glory, such as running water out of a go back, but the remnants of the old ideal of afterglow tempted in alternating periods of history from the south, their spiritual world and the objective world, and man and the serious dislocation of The Times, always in a state of inner heart. William was written this story at that background, the differences between the northern and southern gave him ideas to finish this story.
As representatives of "southern literature", the purpose of Faulkner's writing novels as an example to recall the history of the southern aristocratic yesterday, at the same time also reveals the historical glory facing difficulties and crisis.
