         <description><![CDATA[<div>Wind turbines that generate wind energy move very quickly and are placed in the natural habitats of many different airborne species. This can result in them flying into the turbine and killing or injuring flying wildlife. One solution to this issue would be to use ultraviolet light to deter birds and bats from flying into the turbines. This light is not visible to humans but is seen by other species, this would serve as a warning sign to the airborne creatures. Another solution would be to only build wind turbines in areas where there are not large populations of native birds and bats. This would reduce the number of fatalities because it would be away from their natural path of flight.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The burning of coal produces byproducts like sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, particulates, carbon dioxide, mercury, and ash. These emissions contribute to acid rain, smog, illness, and greenhouse gases that cause global warming. One solution to these issues would be to use carbon capture that separates&nbsp;carbon dioxide from the emissions which can then be injected into underground storage. Another solution would be to switch to renewable energy sources that would help to eliminate the demand for coal and reduce toxic emissions.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Environmental Impacts of Geothermal</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Geothermal power plants are often near fault zones or geological “hot spots”. These areas are more prone to instability and earthquakes, and the geothermal extraction process of removing water and steam can trigger small earthquakes. One solution to this is to use the Bronkhorst Coriolis devices that are able to accurately measure the exact temperature and pressure needed to restabilize the earth's crust without triggering earthquakes. Another solution is to carefully monitor the tremors to ensure that the extraction is put to a stop or slow once a disruption is detected.</div>]]></description>
