Whether it be through social media, through my parents, or others, I am constantly finding different types of allusions to the Bible. Whether they be verses taken from the Bible, or pieces of art work, they are all different ways of indirectly or directly connecting references to the Bible. For example, a snake is sometimes considered to be connected with the Devil within Christianity. The musical within the whole movie is seen as an allusion to the mythological creatures who would sing and lure men at sea so they forget their mission and would eventually die. So the singing within the movie is a reference to the myth of mermaids out at sea singing and luring men and sailors to them, and eventually tricking them to their deaths.
