The leading benefits of online learning are to promote critical inquiry through self-directed learning and collaborative exploration. Online technologies transform learning and teaching in many unprecedented ways by creating platforms in support of mediated interaction, discussion and conversation. Online learning enables learning from remote locations and ensures continuity and seamlessness in learning even during unexpected events such as the ongoing pandemic.

Online learning is beneficial for learning from peers. In adult education, peer interaction plays a critical role in academic learning as well as career development. Peer evaluation is extensively applied in many career fields as part of performance assessment so that learners need to take into consideration input and feedback from peers as well as from the instructor in creating and defining zones of proximal development (ZPD) to build and expand their capacities of learning and achieve continuous progress.

Online learning benefits both the learner and the teacher because the learner can enter into the community of inquiry with the content, social, and teaching presence. they can construct learning, learn from one another and enter into critical inquiry and discourse. it enables learners to continue their education during the pandemic. for teachers, it allows them to find another mode of teaching during the pandemic and also as the advantage of teaching geographically diverse students from all regions of the globe. According to Garrison, Anderson and Archer (2004), in an online platform there is a trigger event or question of inquiry. then there is the exploration or research on that inquiry, then there is student interaction or collaboration where students learn from one another. lastly is the resolution or conclusion where the inquiry is answered or concluded. this helps students be active learners and the teacher is a facilitator, coach, or guide, benefitting th students by having them construct their own learning and use high order critical thinking and analysis

Online learning allows students from all walks of life, dealing with different circumstances (e.g. working parents) to take part in a high quality course that is (mostly) location and time independent.

The benefits of online learning is that it open the heavy iron door of teaching and learning to a room full of knowledge and skills.

I believe the most evident benefit of online learning is flexibility. It is anytime, anywhere learning at the disposal of the learner. There is also flexibility in terms of amount of courses taken at a time, time required for completing the courses. At the same time it provides lots of opportunity for the learner to get connected with like minded people.

One of the major benefits of online learning is the flexibility. This allows students to fit their learning into their own schedules and take the time they need to absorb the information. Another benefit is the time that it allows for students to think about the material and the issues and answer questions in their own time and perhaps relate the material to other things they have learned.

Of course the leading benefit of online learning is its flexible structure in point of time and location both for students and teachers. In addition to other friends I would like to impress the traceability option of online learning. A teacher can monitor the learning from both the quality and quantity responds of learners in online environments. Then he/she can redesign the teaching from these breadcrumbs of students. Actually this is being avaible via the computes by using AI strategies as well...

I believe another major benefit is the anonymity the comes along with it, if students are not afraid of prejudice and judgement they can participate with the course material more easily.

Like others have mentioned, flexibility is a major benefit for both the instructor and learners. Also, online learning offers opportunities to individuals that would otherwise not be possible (or very limited). For instance, in our class, we have the opportunity to work with people all over the world! Finally, a major affordance of online learning is the persistence of discussions--learners and instructors can revisit many times after a conversation takes place.

Providing the online learning environment is accessible to everyone, the unique platform for content delivery enables both faculty and students to access shared resources and learn within a diverse community. The opportunity for relevant discussions and engaging feedback helps to personalize the experience and create a student-based learning experience. Another benefit of online learning is the opportunity for both students and faculty to revisit content. The learning does not stop because the class has moved on to the next module or content topic. The data that can be generated from online learning through a LMS or SIS is another benefit of online learning. The opportunity to improve programs and better serve student needs will only better serve the higher ed institution.

One of the main benefits of online learning , as mentioned by other colleagues, is its ubiquitous characteristic, allowing learners to access course materials any time and at any place. Frankly speaking, I was skeptical about any kind of non F2F learning, but upon being forced to conduct classes online (due to the pandemic), I was made to realize that it actually brought about better results in the students in that they were more engaged in what they were doing.

Some of the major benefits of online learning is the flexibility of time and space that the learner is provided with. The learner can log in at any time of the day as per her/his convenience, plan the day's schedule accordingly. It makes learning self paced and convenient for the learner. Online learning as an approach also helps in developing the practice of peer learning and rather takes it to another level as it goes beyond the physical space. The co-learners need not have to be present at the same place to share their experiences, learning and discuss. And also gives a scope for peer learning beyond geographies and across cultures. It also helps in collaborating with peer learners on online platform and maybe work on some common assignment or project. Thus, helping to creating a environment to nurture 21st century skills which includes global collaboration as an important skill.
Online learning can also also gives scope to learners to construct their own learning in the process, as it is not entirely teacher-driven. In an online learning environment, the teacher/instructor should be more of a facilitator who enables self-learning at own pace, with providing content, resources and handholding when and where needed.
