Mothers (house leaders) would take in young queer people and they would compete in voguing competition, and competitions based on there extravagant outfits and performances. Ballroom has also had a huge influence on fashion and makeup trends today, there is even a show based entirely off ballroom RuPauls Drag Race.

Ballroom is overall a very iconic subculture that’s has changed the way we live and perceive people and has overall had a very positive impact on our society.
