Spain has a prime minster which is exactly like a king and queen but is also known as the "President of the Government." The series of Fundamental Laws passed between 1942 and 1967 which declared that they were a constitutional monarchy. At the time it was the end of the Spanish Civil War in April 1939 to November 1975, Spain was ruled by Gen (Francisco Franco). This website stated https://www.britannica.com/place/Spain/Government-and-society that "Rather than representing individual citizens, the procuradores represented what were considered the basic institutions of Spanish society: families, the municipalities, the universities, and professional organizations."

The Spanish legal system is a civil law based on laws rooted in Roman law and comprehensive legal codes, which is opposed to opposed to common law. In Spain some of the laws the citizens must follow would be the legal drinking age is 16, while the legal driving ago is 18,and lastly where you can not name your kid "Coco" or "Mandarina" since it is names of fruits. From the laws we people in the United States have to follow compared to Spain's laws it is slightly different.

How Leaders are Elected

Ever since 2018 the prime minister of Spain is Pedro Sanchez. The Spanish monarchy nominates an applicant for the presidency who is above the Congress of Deputies of Spain.
Only the House of the Cortes Generals (parliament) effectively elects head of the government. So unlike the U.S. how we get to choose who we want to lead based on what we want, Spain doesn't have the freedom we have because they can't do anything if they don't like the leader.

Constitutional Monarchy Versus Dictatorship

Spain is a Constitutional Monarchy while North Korea is a Dictatorship. What makes Spain so different then North Korea is Pedro Sanchez who is the Prime Minister of Spain he was elected by the House of the Cortes Generals, which they also have the rights to control what type of laws Sanchez wants to approve or not approve. The Parliament also has the last say and only say who becomes the Prime Minister. Now in North Korea the Dictator Kim Jong-un makes the country way more difficult to live in. A dictator is usually somehow rises with power and changes the whole political system to where citizens are too afraid to say something. So citizens in Spain have a little more freedom then the citizens in North Korea.
