         <description><![CDATA[<p>Chemical reaction is a process in which one or more substances are converted to one or more different substances. It is accompanied by one or more combination such as production of heat and light, formation of the precipitate, conversion of gas, observable change in color or temperature. An example of this is rusting of iron in which two substances reacting together to form a new one. When iron rust, iron molecules react with oxygen molecules to create a compound call iron oxide. Corrosion is a chemical change that happens in metals in which it is exposed to electrolyte such as water and oxygen. Thus, rusting of metals or irons occurs when it is either exposed to water or air. </p><p><br/></p><p>References</p><p>Byju’s.          <title>Chemical Equation</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Chemical reaction or change is represented by symbolic representations which is called <strong>chemical equation</strong>. There are two parts in chemical equation the reactants and products. <strong>Reactants</strong> are the substances before the reaction and written on the left side of the chemical reaction. While,<strong> products</strong> are the substances resulting from a chemical reaction and presented at the right side of the chemical equation separated by an arrow called yield.</p><p><br/></p><p>The following table below shows a list of symbols used in writing chemical equations.</p><p><br/></p><ol><li><p>+  - indicates that the substances are added or mixed. </p></li><li><p>→-  means "yields", "makes", "produces", "forms" separates the reactants from the products. </p></li><li><p>↓-  means that a precipitate is formed.</p></li><li><p> indicates that a gas has evolved. </p></li><li><p>(s)-  designates that the reactants or products are in solid form. </p></li><li><p> (1)-  designates that the reactants or products are in liquid form. </p><p><br/></p></li><li><p>(g)-  designates that the reactants or products are in gas form. </p></li><li><p>(aq) - designates an aqueous solution; the substance is dissolved in water.</p></li><li><p>  heat - indicates that heat is supplied.</p><p>    → </p></li></ol><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>References</p><p>Bayquen, A.          <title>Types of Chemical Reactions</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Looking at the picture above there are lots of chemical reaction that happens within our environment as well as within us. And this chemical changes happens to influence our daily living; for instance grilling a meat on griller, for us to cook the meat we need combustible materials such as wood a lighter to start a fire to cook the food. However, how are we going to identify which chemical reaction takes place?</p><p><br/></p><p>Here are six types of chemical reaction such as combinations, decomposition, single displacement, double displacement, combustion reaction and acid- base reaction.</p><p><br/></p><ol><li><p><strong>Combination or Synthesis Reaction</strong>- chemical union of two or more substances to produce single complex product. This chemical change follows this general formula A+ B→AB</p><p>Example: 2Na + Cl<sub>2</sub>&nbsp;→ 2NaCl</p></li><li><p><strong>Decomposition Reaction</strong> - this is the reverse process of synthesis reaction in which a compound is broken down into simpler compounds. The general equation for this chemical reaction is AB→ A+B</p><p>Example: CaCO<sub>3</sub>&nbsp;→ CaO + CO<sub>2</sub></p></li><li><p><strong>Single Displacement (Replacement) Reaction-</strong> a free element replaces another element in a compound. General equation is AB+C →AC+B</p><p>Example: Zn + CuSO<sub>4</sub>&nbsp;→ ZnSO<sub>4</sub> + Cu</p></li><li><p><strong>Double Displacement</strong>- a reaction which two reactants exchange its ions to form a new compound. This chemical reaction follows this chemical equation where as AB+CD→AC+BD</p><p>Example: BaCl<sub>2</sub> + Na<sub>2</sub>SO<sub>4</sub>&nbsp;→ BaSO<sub>4</sub> + 2NaCl</p></li><li><p><strong>Combustion Reaction</strong>- a chemical reaction wherein oxygen gas combines with a compound containing carbon and hydrogen atoms; forming carbon dioxide and water. CnHn+O<sub>2</sub>→CO<sub>2</sub> + H<sub>2</sub>O</p></li><li><p><strong>Acid-Base Reaction or Neutralization Reaction- </strong>is a special kind of double replacement reaction that occurs when an acid and base reacts. This forms salt and water as products. General equation: Acid+ Base→ Salt+ Water</p><p>Example: HCl + NaOH→ NaCl + H<sub>2</sub>O</p></li></ol><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>References</p><p>Admin.
