The poem's message is that as bad as things are, they could always be worse, which, logically, is always true. But Francisco doesn't use this to try to push stoicism, instead he says, "sure complain..." And tells people that their struggles are valid, but at the same time, that shouldn't stop them from keeping going on.

The message that Rudy gives is more than a poem, he instead tells the good in what happened through bad situations and that we need to be grateful and thankful for everything because we never know when our last day is or if anything could happen. I believe the author wants us to " stop complaining" daily and just be thankful that we're alive breathing on this planet.

Evan Thompson: Something I liked about the poem was how he listed all the terrible accidents that happen to people. This puts into perspective how good your day was compared to what it could have been. The poem shows that even though you think that your having a bad day, your day can always be worse and you have to just live your life with the cards that were handed to you.

He gives examples of real problems in life that people face regarding life threatening situations and compares them to our everyday issues. He portrays the message that the worst of the worst problems we may think, are not problems until it is life threatening.

The poem portrays the message that even the people going through the worst of the worst, the survivors of what sounds like our worst nightmares, those who have been to hell and back never complain. There are so many little things in our lives we could go on and on about but instead of centralizing all of our energy in a negative manner we should focus on the positive in our lives. Though what we are experiencing could be bad, we must understand that someone else will always have it worse. While that does not undermine or invalidate our issues, it is important we be thankful for what we do have instead of what we don't. When we are struck with a minor inconvenience, many like to think the world is against them or the universe hates them, but that gets them nowhere. We only grow after we've fallen.

The poem gives the message that people can be going through worse than you, but they find a way to see the positive and light in the situation. Rudy Francisco puts life in perspective for the reader to see that their minor everyday issues could be worse. He proves the point that people are grateful to live through extremely devastating events, but others, who have small inconveniences, make it known and outwardly complain about it. The title, "The Complainers", goes to show that people complain about insignificant events unnecessarily and rarely stop to look for the bright side. Overall, his message is to embrace life and all of its ups and downs because ultimately, we are still alive.

We often take the fact that "We are still alive" for granted, but if we understand it, then the situations that we face may not become the worst. We need to look at the positive side of situations in order to complain less and find a solution to a problem more easily.

It also shows the resilience of people when they push through hard times time and again and are able to handle more challenging times with a better attitude towards it. People need to be more thankful and appreciative for their situation in life because there is always someone in a worse posistion.

Rudy Francisco doesn't just read the poem, he tells it with emotion and feeling and even a sense of urgency. For me, it put into perspective the real definition of a "bad day" and how people were able to look back on it and say "it could have been worse." Towards the end, when he talks about our hearts and the miraculous fact that we're all still alive, it's humbling in a way. Even though every "complaint" someone might have about their day or life is valid in one way or another, it can almost always be worse. Complaining about the little things won't get us anywhere unless we stop and look around at what can be done first.

The poem gives the message that you can feel sad but you could always be worse. He describes that you can be so low in your life but you still won't be at rock bottom. This is because rock bottom should mean death cause that is the absolute end. When he gave out the names of the people who faced horrible tragedy it helped tell their stories on how they hit low but was glad they didn't go lower. yes their situation was bad but it could always get worse.

The message of the poem is that you need to appreciate that you are still alive. He does this by first listing some horrific things people have gone through. He then explains how our every day problems are not actually that terrible using analogies and statistics. While that may come off as harsh, he them goes on an inspiring rant about how we have survived this long and how our hearts are still beating, using the phrase "you are still here." Through these many different ways he conveys the message of being grateful what you have through his poem

We need to take a step back and realize how little our problems are. I liked the beginning of the poem with the real life examples of people who went through unimaginable events. This really helped to emphasise Rudy Francisco's message. Throughout life, complaining is an important thing to keep in mind. We should always be careful with what we complain about and think how big our problems really are. Instead of complaining about the same thing more than twice, we need to solve the issue. We need to take action rather than wasting our breath on something that isn't going to change until we do something about it.

He expresses this through his poem by sharing stories of tragedy and people at their low. Saying "Drink it, and stop complaining" those people that he shared their stories about are experiencing all time lows in their lives and you are complaining about traffic? Those people at their all time lows are still grateful to be alive and have their heart beating which is how everyone should be. We need to enjoy the wonderful life we have and that we are still here so we need to start acting like it.

The main message from the poem "Complainers" is that many of the day to day problems and challenges that we all face aren't as tragic or dire as we sometimes portray them as. He explores stories of people that have faced way worse situations, and how they have all stayed grateful that it wasn't even worse than it already was. He explains that if they can find the positive in it, so can we with our smaller problems. He connects these challenges we face to weights in a gym, and how dealing with them should be seen as an exercise, not a strenuous task. All of this points back to the concept that we have the ability to treat our problems as small and minuscule challenges, or large and immovable difficulties.

I feel as though the message of this poem is heavily based on the title of the poem itself. The title being "The Complainers" and then within the poem, The poet, Rudy Francisco lists off various tragedies that have occurred to him and others, an very simple yet in depth connection can be made between those real world situations and the title. I believe that he is trying to convey a message to all people, regarding the fact that a lot of us take our lives for granted and we don't truly appreciate the fact that many of us haven't had any life changing tragedies occur in our lives. Some of us have and some of us haven't but we all have one thing in common regardless of if you have experienced one or not, we are all alive. And this point, of being alive and being in the moment is one that Francisco heavily stressed because that is really the most important thing in life, is appreciating the fact that you are alive, that you get to do things and go places. And complaining about anything when you get to be alive is just a waste of time,

The message to me appears to be, complain if you must but realize as Francisco said, people have likely gone through more but say oh well, could have been worst. So ask yourself, is what you're complaining about the worst or could it have been worst. I know that because he talks about what people have been through and how we are alive and that we must "act like it." - Raleigh Smith, don't know how to make my post not anonymous.

In the spoken word poem, "The Complainers" Rudy Francisco brings up thought provoking topic through the passage. In his first lines, Francisco depicts these horrible and life threatening experiences that others had, whether it be swimming away from alligators are amputating ones own arm with a pocket knife. What's interesting is that he follows up these mortifying stories with assurance for the audience. Francisco tells us that despite all of these horrible things, we shouldn't feel bad when our smaller, menial issues get in the way of our daily lives. That our feelings are valid even if they seem so insignificant. However, we shouldn't complain, sure we can be upset about a minor inconvenience but one should not be allowed to wallow in their own self sorrow. There are major issues happening all around us so, we need to stop complaining and show some preservice, instead of contemplating over why the traffic was bad or why the water wasn't hot.

The message behind the complainers poem is that complaining is never productive nor constructive. Individuals who have undergone extreme adversity have be quoted to taking horrible experiences in strides of optimism. Francisco asks the audience to make an effort to be more resilient through any tedious struggle they face in their day to day life. He believes that this resilience leads to a life with more meaning.

The message of this poem is essentially hope for the good that can turn out of a bad situation. While obviously, bad conditions are not ideal, a majority of factors that affect us negatively are out of our control, and it's been found that one's attempt to reject this is generally unsuccessful. This poem provides the listener with insight on how to make the best out of unideal situations, and for many, this could actually provide them with a positive wave of hope, due to the fact that we all hold the potential to better ourselves despite these times, and we can choose to fulfill that potential and become a better person in the end.

The message of the poem is that we shouldn't take our lives for granted, there are many other people out there who don't have the privileges we have, and wish they did. Even if we are put in bad situations, there is always a way to find the good in them, we need to remind ourselves of the positive.

The message from the poem is to not let little things ruin your day. People complain about the tiniest things and let it ruin their day when the circumstances could be 10x worse. Even people who have faced a tragic event said, "I guess things could have been worse." If you continue living your life complaining about every little inconvenience your not living your life to the fullest and being thankful. Instead of seeing the glass as half empty think of it has half full, you still have something in there to live for.

In this poem "The Complainers" , Rudy Francisco displays a message that life could always be worse than the situation you are dealing with. He gives examples of terrible things that have happened to people while in nature. Every one of them described how something worse could have happened. He also experienced terrible tragedies in his family, so he knows how bad life can get. His main message is that we should stop complaining about the little problems we have each day because we should be thankful we are still alive. We need to find the positives even if it feels like things are not going well.

The message of the poem is that it is okay to complain, but it is important for people to appreciate the little things. Part of the poem gives a list of these people that have suffered, but made it alive. They pushed and survived this journey of life. The poem makes us take little things for granted that everyone does not realize. This idea of being grateful for being alive makes everyone be happy for have a little piece of hope. The message of this poem is whether the cup is half empty of full, "there's water in the cup". Rudy takes a deep dive into what everyone takes advantage of, which is still being alive. As long as you're here, life is bearable compared to people who have suffered more. This gives off the connotation that we should be happy and thankful to be here
