Hikmah help one to differentiate the good and bad things.

Hikmah help one to understand Allah's command.

It is a blend of knowledge and deed.

Hikmah in ibadah :

e.g.

1. Take ablution correctly so our prayer will be valid.

2. Pray with the correct fiqh.

3. Not recite al-Fatihah with only one breath because it is makruh. Every ayat of readings in prayer is a dialogue with God. Apply khusyu' in prayer.

Hadith :

الْكَلِمَةُ الْحِكْمَةُ ضَالَّةُ الْمُؤْمِنِ فَحَيْثُ وَجَدَهَا فَهُوَ أَحَقُّ بِهَا

Meaning : The wisdom of wisdom is the lost property of believers; wherever he finds it, then he is the most entitled to it.

Objectives of Hikmah :

Hikmah help one to deeper understanding religion and becoming a better vicegerent.

Ways of Acquisition of Hikmah :

1. Intention (Niyya)

   Correct our intention -sincere, pure, clarity, differentiate the act that we want to perform to Allah and others.

2. Focus (Khusyu')

3. Consistency (Istiqomah)

   Strive to perform act, consistently

( Hadith : iman, islam, ihsan )

Ihsan is perfection , the feelings of Allah is watching us so we will strive to do something (amal) with perfection.

Ihsan is also means to fix.

Practise ihsan in daily life.

Importance of Khusyu' :

1. Surah Al Mukminun 23:1-2

   Truly successful are the believers, That is, those who are devoted in their prayers;

2. Surah Taha 20:14

   Indeed I am God; there is no god but Me; therefore, worship Me, and establish a prayer to remember Me.

Every time of prayer is reminder to remember Allah. After doing worldly matters, worship Allah.

Khusyu’ is essential in prayer in order to attain the purpose of remembering Allah.

Virtues in Khusyu' :

1. Loyalty

   Iftitah prayer : وَمَحْيَايَ وَمَمَاتِي

2. Jihad

   Juhdun (root word) (effort) interrelated with focus.

3. Muhasabah : Self-reflection, self-auditory

4. Iffah : Self-control from the act that can degrading our dignity.

5. Tawadhu’

   Relate with scared (takut) and bow (tunduk)

Ways of getting khusyu' :

1. Understand the meanings of readings in prayer.

2. Wear a proper attire that is comfortable, clean and perfectly cover the aurah.

3. Read surah An-Nas before pray to avoid distraction from the Shaytaan.

4. Look at the sujud place.

5. Pray at comfortable and clean place, that also have less or no distraction.

6. Perform ablution perfectly.

ٱتْلُ مَآ أُوحِىَ إِلَيْكَ مِنَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ وَأَقِمِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ ۖ إِنَّ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ تَنْهَىٰ عَنِ ٱلْفَحْشَآءِ وَٱلْمُنكَرِ ۗ وَلَذِكْرُ ٱللَّهِ أَكْبَرُ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا تَصْنَعُونَ

Meaning : Read and follow (O Muhammad) what was revealed to you from the Qur'an, and establish prayer (with diligence); Indeed, the prayer prevents from abominable and evil deeds; and truly remembering Allah is greater (its benefits and effects); and (remember) Allah knows what you do.

Surah Al Baqarah 2:183

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ كُتِبَ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلصِّيَامُ كَمَا كُتِبَ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُونَ

Meaning : O people who believe! You are required to fast as it was required of those before you, so that you may be righteous.

Surah At Tawbah 9:103

خُذْ مِنْ أَمْوَٰلِهِمْ صَدَقَةًۭ تُطَهِّرُهُمْ وَتُزَكِّيهِم بِهَا وَصَلِّ عَلَيْهِمْ ۖ إِنَّ صَلَوٰتَكَ سَكَنٌۭ لَّهُمْ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ

Meaning : Take (part of) their property as alms (zakat), so that with it you cleanse them (from sin) and purify them (from bad morals); and pray for them, because indeed your prayer is peace for them. And (remember) Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.

Surah Al-Baqarah (2:197)

ٱلْحَجُّ أَشْهُرٌۭ مَّعْلُومَـٰتٌۭ ۚ فَمَن فَرَضَ فِيهِنَّ ٱلْحَجَّ فَلَا رَفَثَ وَلَا فُسُوقَ وَلَا جِدَالَ فِى ٱلْحَجِّ ۗ وَمَا تَفْعَلُوا۟ مِنْ خَيْرٍۢ يَعْلَمْهُ ٱللَّهُ ۗ وَتَزَوَّدُوا۟ فَإِنَّ خَيْرَ ٱلزَّادِ ٱلتَّقْوَىٰ ۚ وَٱتَّقُونِ يَـٰٓأُو۟لِى ٱلْأَلْبَـٰبِ

Meaning : (Time to perform worship) The Hajj is a few months that are known. Therefore, whoever has committed himself (with the intention of performing) the Hajj, then he must not interfere with his wife, and he must not commit immorality, and he must not argue, while performing the Hajj. And whatever good you do is known to God; and you should bring enough food because the best food is to protect yourself (from the shame of asking for alms); and fear Me, O people of understanding (who can think and understand it).

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ : S.A. Aisyah R.A. said if we found this phrases in any ayat, we have to pay attention to it because it shows that Allah wants to give command or prohibit one act in that ayat.

كُتِبَ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلصِّيَامُ : kutiba-kataba is arabic verb that bring the meaning of whatever that is written/command upon you, fasting is obligatory upon you.

لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُونَ : purpose of sawm

Taqwa : god consciousness, aware of god’s presence in everything.

Hadith : Umar al-Khattab R.A. asked Ubai bin Ka'ab R.A. about the meaning of Taqwa. Then, Ubai asked back Umar, "Have you enter an alley that full of thorns?". "I did." said Umar. "What did you do?"Ubai asked. “I was careful and tried hard to get through it” Umar replied. Then, Ubai said, "That's how Taqwa is".

Sawm & Taqwa

1) control the desire of the body -man's inclination (fitrah) is to eat and drink.

2) patience (sabr) -let go of halal/harus things and learn to say no towards nafsu, will eventually develop taqwa.

3) people depend on Allah -self-reflection, Allah Pemberi Nikmat, develop the feelings of gratitude.

-Rukhsah in Sawm

Sawm is our right to develop taqwa and to develop brotherhood (because we fasting together)

Surah Al-Baqarah 2:186 -Allah always near.

1. Mandatory Conditions for Prayer: Islam, Reasonable, Puberty.

2. Valid Conditions for Prayer:

   Cleanse the body, the area, and the spot for prayer from dirt, Cover the aurah, Face the Qibla, Enter prayer time with confidence.

4. Sunnah Acts in Prayer:

   - Look towards the place of sujud.

   - Recite the opening supplication (Dua Iftitah).

   - Say 'Amin' after reciting Al-Fatihah.

   - Engage in glorification (Tasbih) during Ruku' and Sujud.

   - Recitation during standing up straight after bowing (I'tidal).

   - Supplicate before giving the first Salam.

   - Khusyu' in prayer.

5. Sunnah Ab'adh (7) & Sunnah Hai'ah

6. Makruh Acts in Prayer:

   - Praying while feeling sleepy.

   - Praying while in a state of holding back major or minor impurities.

   - Praying while looking upwards.

Ablution

1. Conditions for Valid Ablution (Wudu'):

   Muslim, Mumayiz, Free from menstruation and postpartum bleeding, Use pure water.

2. 6 Pillars of Ablution

3. Number of Washings :

   1-Obligatory, 2-Sunnah, 3-Sunnah, 4+ Makruh

4. Sunnah Acts in Ablution (Wudu'):

   -Reciting "Bismillah" (In the name of Allah).

   -Exceeding the minimum required number of washes for each body part.

   -Using water conservatively.

   -Reciting the supplication after completing ablution.

5. Acts That Invalidate Ablution (Wudu'):

   -Anything exiting from the front or back private parts.

   -Touching a non-mahram or spouse.

   -Touching the private parts with the palm of the hand.

   -Unconsciousness.

   -Sleeping while not maintaining a fixed position on the back.

   
   

Tayammum

1. Pillars of Tayammum:

   Intention - Wipe the face and both hands with earth dust, each with two taps on the earth dust.

   
   

Khusyu'

Sunnah, not a part of pillars of prayer.

1. Receive Allah's forgiveness and great rewards.

2. Cleanse and purify the soul.

3. Achieve the degree of Al-Birr (Goodness) on the side of Allah.

4. Eliminate sin and mistakes.

5. Allah double its reward.

6. Protect soul from stinginess

Surah Al-Baqarah 2:261

مَّثَلُ ٱلَّذِينَ يُنفِقُونَ أَمْوَٰلَهُمْ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ كَمَثَلِ حَبَّةٍ أَنۢبَتَتْ سَبْعَ سَنَابِلَ فِى كُلِّ سُنۢبُلَةٍۢ مِّا۟ئَةُ حَبَّةٍۢ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ يُضَـٰعِفُ لِمَن يَشَآءُ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ وَٰسِعٌ عَلِيمٌ

Meaning : The comparison (donation) of those who spend their wealth in the way of God, is the same as a seed that grows and produces seven stalks; each stalk contains a hundred seeds. And (remember), Allah will multiply the reward for whomever He wills, and Allah is Wide (grace) in His grace, and Covers His knowledge.
