I am in year 31st year of education with 18 in the classroom and 13 as an Admin (Principal/District Leader/Coordinator of Virtual Learning/Coordinator of Instructional Programs).  I have 3 daughters and a King Charles Cavalier dog.  
My Why:
The most important things (in order) to me:
1. My Wife and 3 daughters - Taylor (23) Megan (21) and Charlotte (9).   They drive everything I do.  As long as they are safe and doing well, I am free to move on to my other goals.   I put our pic below.
2. Creating models of education that empower students, teachers, parents, admin to make learning about engagement and growth.   This has consumed the past 13 years of my life and I believe deeply in what we're doing.  
4.  Helping teams to function better together through trust, high levels of collaboration, and skill building.  
3.  Tennis.  I used to play lots of sports, but the body has said "no mas."  So my free time is tennis when I can do it.

This is my second year at Valor. I am the science teacher.  I've worked with youth since I was in high school, but teaching is my 3rd career.  I am married with 6 kids ages 19-8 years old.  
I hope to lead the Environmental Club (Y-Adapt) at Valor, because I am a big advocate of doing what you can where you are at to help adapt to our changing world. I volunteer with the American Red Cross. Interesting fact about me, is I was in NYC during the aftermath of 9/11 and it had forever changed what kind of person I want to be in the world. This is my very first year working with Valor. I am the new Special Education Teacher with both Arizona and Ohio, all the way from North Carolina. I was born and raised in NC. I am entering my 12th year of teaching - I have taught elementary all the way up to high school. I hold my bachelor's degree in General Special Education K-12 and my master's in Educational Leadership. I look forward to pioneer this program and see our kiddos soar with this hybrid system! 
Interesting facts about my life:
1) I have been married for 12 years with my husband, Alexander. We have 2 children - Kai (12) and Penelope (8). They are my reason why!
2) We live on a small farm where we raise chickens for eggs - currently at 30 and we strive to have a larger farm as we grow together as a family!

Can’t wait to meet you all in person. I started at Valor last semester as a student teacher. I’ve been working with students in college access since 2014 and can’t wait to continue to work with them as a math teacher at Valor. 

Short background: I’ve been in Arizona almost my whole life, aside from being born in Utah and a semester in Ukraine. My husband and I both went to NAU and we both ended up becoming teachers. We have two of the most adorable cats and love to pretend we are outdoorsy people from Flagstaff (we tried camping once, it didn’t work out). 

Factors that drive me are:
1. My family. My husband, cats, and siblings are my people, I apologize in advance for talking about them all the time.
2. Students. I remember coaching my first student in 2014 and thinking that it was the most amazing experience ever. I learn so much from every single student I work with and hope I can make as much a positive impact in their lives as they do in mine.
3. Community. I’ve always wanted to make a positive difference somehow, thinking that I needed to be a doctor or work in nonprofit. I’ve realized that we get that chance every single day with each interaction we have with those around us, no matter what career. However, teaching is the role I feel most confident in and the best way I can make a difference in my community.

This will be my first year here in Valor and hopefully many more. I will be the Special Education Paraprofessional and I'm super excited to be joining the team!! I've worked with on the spectrum students, kids with a tough background and etc. 
I am a 25 year old dog mom (he's a Pitbull but harmless) and been with my partner ever since 2014. I moved in with him within a month of knowing each other and still going hopefully forever. I was the one who proposed and went the whole nine-yards !

I was born and raised here in Phoenix. My parents divorced backed in 2004. I have 2 older brothers and one younger sister from my father and his wife and she has 2 kids of her own but consider them our brothers. 
I own a Mexican Seafood food truck with my father. At first I didn't know anything about cooking but I had to chop some fingers to pick up things and learn in the kitchen.  This is going to be my first fall at Valor. I started as a Para at Valor in Jan 2021. Valor is the first school I have ever worked at. I work in Mental health for 10 years and needed a break. I couldn't be more happier at Valor. SOOOOO about me! lol.
 I was born and raised here in Arizona. I have never really lived or gone anywhere else.   I went to an accelerated High school and graduated at 16. I have a Pharm tech Certificate. Eventually I would love to get my bachelors in Psychology. Really just for the ability to say I graduated college.  Ummm more about me. I am one of 6 kids total. I have one biological brother.  A step brother and a step sister. An adopted brother. (he was my biological brothers best friend and lived in with us at 16 and has always been a part of our family.) Lastly my Sister in Law. She's been around for 13 years and is one of the kids.  I am the middle child and kind of do my own thing.   I have 2 boys. Brandon whos 12  and lives with my mom and an amazing 5 year old ( that I talk about ALL the time) Wyatt. Wyatt is Autistic and has ADHD and a language disorder. Wyatt has definitely changed my life and filled a hole in my heart I didn't even know that there honestly.  My boys are my heart and soul.  They make me who I am and have defined my life. 

Fun Facts. 
I am married, we celebrated 5 years in march 2021. 
I am a closet couponer and I hide my mini stock piles. 
I was raised to be an old school woman, you cook, clean, dress nice 24/7. Speak when spoken to out in public. Some of it stuck. 
 My mom has worked for UTI/ MMI for 25 years and its definitely has made me a tomboy and love the desert. 
 I LOVE to cook and bake and feed people.  I have an established kitchen of appliances.
