Inference:The source tells me that the live of teenagers is difficult as the government has a strict control over the food and supplies

Evidence:The evidence that food was limted and the people have to go to the blackmarket and buy the items at a higher price

Inference: this source tells me that during the japanese strict control, people living during the japanese occupation have to grow thier own  food during that time especially the teenagers.

Evidence:That is when the black market started to the local and helping them get supplies but the price in the black market are much more expensive and only the rich could afford it.

Inference: This source tells me that some teenagers might not have known their parents due to the events that occured during the world war 2.

Evidence: This source tells me that many children were separated from their parents. One example mentioned in the museum Harry Stagden, who was sent to coal mines to work while the children's mother was killed during the war. The Japanese also eliminated anyone suspected with anti-Japanese sentiments through the Sook Ching operation. Many loved ones were lose through massacres conducted by the Japanese.

Inference: The source tells me that the Japanese did not have a proper system of finding the anti Japanese

Evidence: The source tells me that the Chinese men aged 18-50 were sent to Sook Ching for further inspection searching for those who are with the anti-japanese.

Inference:This source tells me that teenagers families had a hard time finding jobs during the japanese occupation

Evidence:The source tells me that the life in Syonan came under tight Japanese control.Early on during the occupation,the japanese took control of food and other commodities through kumiai(Distribution of monopolies)Under the kumiai system,supplies brought from producers were sold by licensed shopkeepers to the people,who could purchase food and other essentials only if they had ration cards.

Inference: This source tells me  that the amount of food given each person have decrease.

evidence: The source tells me that over time, everyday items fell into short supply. Particularly worrying was the rice supply, which declined steadily between 1941 and 1943. By February 1944, rice rations fall had fallen to158 grams per day for men and 119 grams for women(compared to 397 grams per person per day at the beginning of the occupation)

Inference: people struggle with the Japanese government as they have to grow their own food everyday to eat.

Evidence:To ease food shortage, the japanese planned to evacuate 300000 people from syonan to southern Malai. Mamoru Shinozaki, the welfare officer in the japanese administration, created farming communities that were meant to be self-sufficient. These communities were generally free of japanese supervision, and some joined in order to seek a safe haven from the japanese authorities.

Inference:This source also tells me that the life of teenagers are very unsatisfying as they have very hard to crops at the fields.

Evidence: This source tells that working the land was laborious and the village life could be hard, but many were relieved to be away from the Japanese

Inference: This source tells me that the teenagers during the Japanese occupation was very suffering as they were send to Changi prison and get torture as they were suspected to be spy and have to work as road sweepers.

Evidence:The evidence is a group of teenagers entering Changi prison and most of the people are Eurasion and Chinese people.

Inference:Chinese and Eurasion struggled during the Japanese occupation as they feared Sook Ching.

Evidence:The Japanese will bring the  Chinese and eurasion to Pulau Belakang Mati (Sentosa) to be shot to death.
